Re: [Help wanted] Need some arrows
those new arrows are a great improvement. i didnt think to look whether the gui was shaded differently from the game! but thats good to know. i think richk67 was trying to get me to go round it in black too, but i didn't quite understand whwat he meant! But skidd13 the arrows look really nice. Also, i would say that just the arrow may be enoughanyway, without the cardinal points. this is all looking really nice! good work
now called mph
-mph- my initials- for a transport game! why did i never think about that before?!? -

Re: [Help wanted] Need some arrows
I think the water one looks quite neat there

Re: [Help wanted] Need some arrows
All four pics added to their files... I really love the look of the seaplane water... very meditteranean feel.
Skidd13 has been doing some graphics for the project... here is a taster
The hangar is based on a real one at Shannon airport. Bit more work needed on this one yet though - doorway needs to be wider, and whole hangar could do with being another 4 pixels taller. Love the effect though. The roof is cool.

Re: [Help wanted] Need some arrows
Awesome! To my opinion they are far better than the original ones. Gone are the ugly buildings! Satellite terminal is very nice.
Three points:
1. Some better texturing on the roofs.
2. The pillar of the Control Tower doesn't look so round. Some more contrast?
3. Depot entrance doesn't fit so much with a modern airport, but maybe I am wrong. It is OK for a smaller airport like a commuter appearing earlier in game, but for the larger ones of later years entrance should be adjusted.

Re: [Help wanted] Need some arrows
Sorry to break a nice thread with a problem. I note that if I use TTRS airports tiles next to the airports' runways do not appear right. The airports seemto shift some of its visual to the adjacent tiles. Does anyone else encounter such a problem or is it a compatibility issue with another grf?
See attached.

Perhaps, unless the billboards start to fall,
I may never see a tree at all.

I want to stick near the original sprites (Maybe you noticed the color range is the same).athanasios wrote:1. Some better texturing on the roofs.
Already done.athanasios wrote:2. The pillar of the Control Tower doesn't look so round. Some more contrast?

There's WIP. But as usual it'll be public when it's done.athanasios wrote:3. Depot entrance doesn't fit so much with a modern airport, but maybe I am wrong. It is OK for a smaller airport like a commuter appearing earlier in game, but for the larger ones of later years entrance should be adjusted.

TTRS airport graphics are incompatible with OpenTTD. This has been ever like this.kilo.dollar wrote:Sorry to break a nice thread with a problem. Re: [Help wanted] Need some arrows
First of all, it looks like the GRF is to blame; it adds those green fields without any reason. Anyway, the GRF isn't even made with OTTD's new airports in mind as you can see with the other buildings.

Re: [Help wanted] Need some arrows
I know the point has been answered but I would just like to add that you would have known the lack of OTTD support if you'd read the appropriately titled 'readme' for the TTRS set.kilo.dollar wrote:TTRS airports tiles next to the airports' runways do not appear right.

Re: [Help wanted] Need some arrows
True Ben, but then everything else about TTRS seem to be working well for me except the airport graphics. Therefore, I didn't think it was the grf on its own. In fact I had discounted the incompatibility problems. (These nightlies can do wonders sometimes, though they couldn't on this issue)
Anyway, no need to split hairs over a no-brainer.

Re: [Help wanted] Need some arrows
richk67 and skidd13, those Commuter airports look amazing, i love those depots and buildings.. I love them GREAT JOB..
But i have to agree with athanasios "Depot entrance doesn't fit so much with a modern airport".. skidd13 i know it's a work in progress but do you have other designs that you could show of those depots for modern airports?
Keep the good work guys..

Re: [Help wanted] Need some arrows
|I know what you guys mean about the airport 'hangar' however, most hangars are basic and do look like that. Even on modern airports! At the end of the day, they are built to cover an aeroplane when undergoing maintenance and are rarely subject to the workings of an extravagant architect! I think it could do with some work to get it right but I guess we'll have to see what Skidd's back-up is!

Re: [Help wanted] Need some arrows
That hangar is based on the one at Shannon airport, Eire. http://www.aircraft-hangars.com/large-a ... angars.htm
Once again, its probably our oddball scale that messes with the look of the hangar.

Re: [Help wanted] Need some arrows
Now I see. By the way: That's a nice link. I will add it to my links thread. Thanks for finding it.
skidd13:
Regarding roof texturing: Don't need to go different from original airport roofs if you don't like it. Notice original roofs use some more darker shades of grey. You can add something similar.
