I use that many farms just for the fun of it :)
I know i can alter the production values but i never done it before and i wounder if they will stay that high all the times?

And i dont want to hit the limit of how mutch one farm can produce.

My webserver had something really strange going on thats why my images didn't load before but that should be fixed now...
Never had any problems with it before...

My networks works fine but not perfect!

Anyways i'll see what else comes up when i play again.

i just played a couple of hours on my testgame again

and i have problems getting the trains out of the station fast enough, they keep blocking each other

so i would like a picture of a station that can handle very many trains at a time and getting them off and back on the main tracks fast enough........................

btw. i thougth to my self earlier today how many mouse clicks do you make when your playing............... so i entered download.com and got a program called mouse tracks...........

I then set a timer on 2 hours and started

I had clicked 1 time on the middle mouse button and 1 time on the rigth to check the program out prior to playing...... the travelled distance was aprox 7000 mm and starting the game was click number 17 on the left mouse button............after playing i noticed the counter and used one click to move it to the middle of the screen............... so thats excactly 5000+1000 clicks in excactly 2 hours............thats insane

Nice wallpaper....
Quite distracting though...
An slightly inappropriate I might add...
You might want to crop the picture to show only the part you specifically wanted to point out (unless the wallpaper is part of it...)
Sometimes I'm told "Brilliant"...
Sometimes I'm told "Charming"...
And Often I'm told "Shut Up"!

here, some pics of my most efficient station ever, especially the exits work quite nice, trains almost never block eachother.

Here's my best rollon-rolloff station. So far, it's servicing 117 trains, no bottlenecks yet. There are 3 main exit waypoints, one on either side and one going straight out (north?). Each train has an exit in its orders. Under heavy traffic, trains sometimes head toward a wrong exit (due to signaling that allows multiple trains to exit) so there are some "correction" tracks that route them back the right way.

I always try to create realistic looking junctions and station interlocking blocks

so, no overkill fly-overs for small industry lines, no cloverleaf-junctions (ever seen those in real? I haven't..)

No way. He's also using electrified railroad, which is not implemented in OpenTTD.
But, eventually, PBS will be introduced in OTTD, so layouts like this will be possible. :D
[I am already using it, btw]

Current layout

Here is what I use on my current map, for my main line. The first junction serves some hundred trains, and I have yet to experience queues, and the four-lane "highway" goes on for a while, catching all the high-speed trains in the "first group" and the slower ones as a "second group", which helps eliminating queues later as well. The station exit is the second screenshot.

Comments?

PS: I like how my funds go from $96M to $100M in a few days :D

i like to build junctions as and when needed so they are all very customised. having fixed junctions usually result in longer routes.[/img]

here is a not very realistic but quite an effective 4way, 2line junction (currently only used by several trains, but this will change)

Here is a nice transfer and pass through station in my current game - it currently isn't very busy because it has only been built - and it is only 1948.

Here is my super compact junction.

A train has never had to wait at this one.

No PBS Hackykid? I'm dissapointed

There are times when JPG is useful, TTD screenshots is not one of them. Please use PNG instead.

Hahaha, what a brilliant junction!

By the way, Hackykid's junctions were posted at the beginning of March - I wonder wether he started PBS afterwards?

I didn't look at the post date

He posted his PBS thread about a week after those screenshots.

I originally posted my junction as a joke, but if I PBS it, it could be a reasonable, simple, compact junction. Obviously not as much capacityas spaghetti, but definately smaller and cheaper, and no slopes.
