Going back to the music thing, just thought I'd post this if it's of any use - I recorded this from the show. It's the main theme as posted before, but with the full intro. Unfortunately there's a few noticable artefacts. :/

The funny thing is, I was hooked on Thomas ever since it was first broadcast here in England (some of my earliest memories include rushing back from playschool to watch Thomas), and yet in the 22 years since then I never once noticed that the opening theme and the closing theme were different.

But I finally have (22 years for the penny to drop - that's just terrible1), and have edited them together into a Thomas theme tune 'suite' below.

Now, one thing I *do* remember clearly as a kid is that the first broadcast of Thomas here showed two episodes back to back, but edited together. You'd get the title sequence, first episode, then the theme tune would play twice over images of the engines sitting at the shed with name boards in front of them. None of the repeats I've seen, nor the DVDs, show this, and instead have all the episodes separately.

So this edited together suite I've just done harkens back to that, though I'm not sure if it's exactly the same. But anyway, it does include both versions of the theme as well as the intro that got drop after series 2. I've only encoded at 128kbps, but if it's useful I can encode higher if needed.

It seems I somewhat underestimated how much extra work I'd be getting when I started my GCSEs. :(
Don't worry, I'm still doing odd bits here and there, but I think the set would definitely benefit from a secondary coder. (Apply now!)

I would help out, but I don't like that the set will contain the whole TV Series, not just the railway series, which IMHO, is a crap decision.

although isnt everything in the tv series from the books. We decided that if here was a difference we would chose the book version.

You don't have to like them, but others might.

Ive been thinking, since most of us havent been watching the tv show for a long time, the people that have been contributing to this thread, could you post roughly which engines you are familiar with. This can be a base, since there isnt much point including the locos we arent familiar with. We will still add all the locos from the books ofcourse. This is to filter out anything that wasnt originaly in the books, but people know and would like to be included.

I would suggest a switch for the GRF that either uses the book engines or the TV show engines, but seeing as I have no idea how to do that I'll just keep my mouth shut.

Yeah but I mean... In the Railway Series there's a set of twin Class 43s - how cool is that!?

I still stand by my idea to have 'unnamed' engines in the background. This would allow players to actually have a functioning railway without doubling-up on the named engines.

erh, no. The continuity will be broken, as the URKS' art and coding is on a whole different level.
