Hopefully now this topic keeps clean...
(I am very sorry if I have splitted usefull posts, but it was very hard with posts that are discussing and reply to offtopic, but I think I haven't wipped to much.)
Back to Topic:
I think it would be very usefull to show the pcx content aswell,
with a tool to look up where a Sprite(x,y) is.

I wanted to be kind and try to post possible relevant stuff out of the original topic in this one. But I believe the initial 'support notices' have been lost. But as I understand that Andrex and gmyx are working on it together I don't think they lost much. I'm looking forward to the tool though; Broodje is compiling an NFO right now and if only I could understand more I could do that too!

All the PCX related part of the editor are done (except save the file). You can configure things lixe axis colors and background, etc, and the move, resize and reposition features work easier and better than expected.
What delayed me was the code to show transparent sprites considering they are BMPs. But as you can see, it works perfectly. Browsing through sprites is very fast and stable, resizing and moving them is a piece of cake.
Pseudo sprites are not loaded. I am now reading its documentation at TTDPatch.net, but I don't get it very well.
@ gmyx
If you know how to work with the pseudos very well, let me know so I could send you my source code for you to make that part (if you totally agree). My original idea was for PCX sprites only, but editing pseudo sprites must be useful for some ppl too (despite that's not my case

Looks like a useful tool, but for road vehicles (and trains) it’s necessary to have other background – the road.Andrex wrote:All the PCX related part of the editor are done (except save the file). It would also be nice to have the ability to change the position of the group of sprites (the list on the right could have check boxes to list the edited sprites)
What about group sprites? For example, a factory. Could the tool have the ability to draw a list of sprites at the background to give the better view of the currently edited sprite?
IMO, that seems moot since if you make changes, you'd have to re-read the PCX file anyway. That said, I also don't see why you need to save the PCX file from this tool, since it's screw any changes you made in your real image editor.
Of course, I assume that we'll see a source release too. I mean, there's no good reason not to, is there? There's no trademarks or patents involved.

I'd rather contribute to something that's already running than go and write a completely new tool. Especially when the authors of the original tool are so selfish to make people do that, in a sort of "Ha ha! This is mine, ALL MINE! None of you can have it because it's MINE!" kind of way. Functional duplication again.
ChrisCF: Do I really need to split the topic again? Contribute something usefull...
TTDPatch dev in retirement ... Search a grf, try Grf Crawler 0.9 - now with even faster details view and new features...

I didn't you can read all your stuff in the splitted topic...

I don't agree with ChrisCF's comments or attitude in this matter, but to say he isn't doing anything is untrue and unfair. He is, for example, working on the BR set, which I for one am eagerly awaiting.
Perhaps it might be best simply to end this thread, and for us all to reserve judgement until the new tool comes out. Then, those that wish to use it, can, and those that do not feel it is useful, can ignore it.
