Thought so. Those services have been eroded back over the years, so the 3 people still using them probably won't notice too much. Shame as the numbers using local trains could easily be boosted by having more trains stop at Teeside Airport, something the local newspaper has campaigned for for years...

Still, the now regular 141 service up Weardale should maybe encourage a few travelers up from Darlo....

I can't imagine a 141 encouraging anyone this side of Tehran to use the train... then again, I guess it's better than nothing

The secret is in the cab design, as with other Pacers.

The difference is subtle, but very spottable. Andrew Barclay built the earlier 143 and BREL Derby made the 144. BREL for some reason have actually made it look like it fits together properly.

Pacers aren't all that common over that end. The Lancashire area tends to be serviced by 150s/153s (except for the occasional 142). I've never seen a Pacer north of Preston.

The 322 will have actually been a 320 then, but the 150 is still an unusual one. I can only assume it was heading to Heaton for some reason. My office overlooks the ECML at Manors station by the way, so heading east/north out of NCL.

So it was on a Morpeth turn or on the way to Heaton. I dunno, not gonna pretend I do.

There's one that knocks about in Cumbria. The first train of the morning out of Preston to Barrow (4/5am, through to either Millom or Carlisle) used to be a Pacer, I've not got it for years though. I think it usually runs south from Barrow at about 3pm (3.20 rings a bell) to Lancaster, too. My timing may be wrong, but I've definitely got it each way and that's when I mostly travel - it set off about a minute or two before a northbound 156, almost certainly the single train to sellafield. It's regularly pootling about, anyway, I used to see it reasonably often. There used to be a couple more, but at least one diagram was swapped for a 153 and I suspect another for a 156 - both a few years back now, mind.

143/144 there's at least one that tends to go between Morecambe and Leeds, I can't tell the difference either. I regularly see it over on Platform 5 at Lancaster (which leads me to think it's there at about 3-5pm). That's the only one I've ever seen over this way. They used to be a lot more common - I regularly saw a red liveried pacer in platforms 1/2 when I was younger.

144s are often used on the Morecambe/Heysham Port services.

No, it was going to Wabtec Doncaster for modifications.

Aye, but the 150 certainly wasn't. Or if it was, it was taking a bizarre route.
