Unique vehicle group names

I would propose more like a system with tags. Eg, take the iTunes interface, you've got three search columns with underneath all songs under the restrictions selected. Search columns like: "artist" "album" and "genre". A selection in either of these columns, restricts the possible outcomes of the other columns and the songs displayed. I think this is also what Alberth was referring to.

My thoughts seem to be somewhat more wild; I was thinking to have a set of grouping properties (vehicle type, main cargo, consist, orders, user-defined names, etc).
A grouping property is a way to split your vehicles in one or more groups. ('user-defined names' is what we have now, where you give each group a name, and drag vehicle into it.)

I also think gmail uses this system as well, you do not put your mail into different directories, however, certain e-mails get certain labels and you can impose restrictions on the displayed e-mails based on the labels selected.
