Hmmm - anyone fancy a day trip to Stranrear? - the map implies the trains run pretty frequently and rapidly!

Lol, if there's any line that needs a more frequent service, its the Stranny one.

They're proposing an hourly service and increasing the linespeed of it :)

'Bout time, though its hard to see how it will fit. Used to love playing Vern Moorhouse's Ayr-Stranraer MSTS scenario because you had to really drive the train - its a long wiggly single track line with only 3 or 4 passing places along its length. The other problem is that Stena Line are daftly moving the ferry to Cairnryan, when Stranny is clearly much more convenient from the passenger's point of view, whether they arrive by rail or road. I vaguely remember hearing that if that happens they will close the harbour branch and re-open the town station, which survives as a never used goods depot, BR having lost most of the traffic.
