Re: OpenTTD Comedy.
I quite like my HQ from a game I played over LAN a while back. It took ages and cost loads to get the water there
I even have "flags"!

nighltys have support for that... The one I used was r12025..Kumagoro wrote:OMG the global warming!

@AntBUK, where did you get so nice grfs?

Re: OpenTTD Comedy.
That will work, but its best to do stuff in Adobe Imageready or similar. Differences in FPS of screen video capture and the game can result in duplicate frames, which makes a jumpy gif.trainmaster611 wrote:You can use this tool to convert videos to different formats and to animated GIF

Re: OpenTTD Comedy.
Talking about .gifs... in another (now old and buried) thread, I posted these animated .gifs I made:

the first one is an animated remake of the forum logo (see top left), the second one an entirely new scene
The thread was about a new forum logo, but an animated logo would be too distracting and bandwidth consuming. But these can be used by anyone who wants as an advertisement for tt-forums (put in your signature in other forums or on your website), I give permission to use it

Be glad she hasn't learned to use a hex-editor and change the names of the industry-types.Gord wrote: My wife likes to sabotage my games sometimes if i go to the loo or go make a cup of tea or something. I'll come back to it later and find that some of my stations suddenly have silly names!
Speaking of renaming, one of the things I like doing when the AIs are being awkward is to breifly play as the awkward AI in question and rename some of their most awkwardly placed airports and stations. For example, if an AI builds an airport where I plan on eventually (but not just yet) extending my rail-network, I rename the "Airport" part of the station-name to "AeroHaHa". Not sure why, but I suppose it's an indicator to move the airport next time I do dome serious 'playing as another AI' so I can clear space for my route. Also, when an AI is competing with me for a subsidy and they build a station, I sometimes rename the station "[townname] OhNoYouDon't". The screenshot shows both. Something I also like doing when taking over the AI is to change their faces to give them the most aged/worn-out/whatever look (my own face looks agressive and full of vitality).
Also, check out this thread, and then, there's this.

Lol nice.
Here's one I found exceedingly funny-

Its called "SADwood" and its a little LITTLE weirdly made town. Get it?

That is probably from some old times when tunnel costs were capped at 400M pounds (800M dollars). Later the costs were uncapped, but as the costs were exponantial, tunnels over about 300 tiles or longer cost 2^63-1 pounds (so, basically impossible to build :) Few revisions after that the tunnel costs were reduced to be roughly quadratic, so you could again build tunnel over entire 2048 masp, but it would cost about 16G pounds I think :)thebrightside wrote:
This could be a pain when you actually have enough cash and you accidently make a tunnel to the end of the map.....
(Though I don't think it was such a long one that it cost THAT much when I did it...)
If you need something, do it yourself or it will be never done.

I like the sadwood village. Randomly generated humour ftw.
I tend to stick a 'te koop' sign on my opponents' HQ in multiplayer games ("for sale" in dutch).
It's also fun to rename towns that your opponent is using a lot to an adjective. so he gets stations like 'lousy mines' and 'crappy central'.

ahem.. sorry for offtopic..
ship depots are included in latest infrastructure, which makes the updating pretty useless..
Road depots are included too I think (not sure though)
Electric sparks are included in eyecandy v0.1

Speaking about random funny stuff happening...
In a game of mine with ECS vectors, i had a sand pit in early game near the highway. Some time later it closed down and I moved on with my truck fleet to another place to get my sand... I left the station where it was tho for eyecandy, just added a "closed" to the name.
Then, many years later, what do i see? A new sand mine is built nearly exactly where the old one was, in range of my old station
talk about randomness

edit: forgot screenshot

These posts are perhaps interesting and whimsical, but not really funny. If you want comedy, you should be in an active multiplayer game with your friends/enemies.
