towngrowthlimit can go from 12 to 128. TTD's default is 20. It determines how far from the town centre a town can grow.

largertowns sets how many towns get an increased growth rate, e.g. "largertowns 5" sets one in five towns to get a larger growth rate.

Petaja, I think the reason that the towns get smaller is that a building disappears, but because your towngrowthlimit is too small it can't be rebuilt. Or maybe it just replaces all those big buildings with stupid fountains and statues...

My towngrowthlimit is set by 128. I recalled wrong that limitation.

I think that the reason is what you've just said: Stupid fountains an statues.

Is it possible to set passenger/goods values to those fountain & statue sprites and then replace them with some nice buildings?

I tried using towngrowthlimit 128, and it didn't work, it spoke of an invalid line in my .cfg file. Which alpha was it released in? :?

I was just trying to say, that this shape is easy to recognize
And in that same scenario i tried another town, which grew above 40k and is circular
So what causes this 2 different shapes ?

I agree. Although real cities arn't any particular shape (Sydney represents a bulge that keeps on growing outwars in 3 directions (up dowsna dn to the west, but never to either diagonal :) )

Lol, true... but growth is stopping now. We've got the mountains to the west, national park + miltary reserve to the south, something to the north (forgot :P ) and unless we build floating homes... the sea to the east. So we must build up. Which is bad, it's not the aussie way
