Conecptually the stuff would arrive by ship but (I guess) in game tech terms it would simply be a mine/mill/whatever located by sea with appropriate graphics.G-TANK-G wrote:well, i think i know what you mean. Do you mean a harbour style industry that can produce your goods, food, steel etc. with the big long crates stacked up in piles as if it had been imported? because if so, i could do that but if you want to be able to see how it'll be imported i.e by big massive cargo ships with the grates on the top deck. then, no. however i doubt it'll work, but i could try and give docks aswel but if not then i'll make it a lil' crate bay thing look.dave61 wrote:In creating my Netherlands map I am faced with a dilemma: there is a rather big obvious steel works sitting on the coast near Amsterdam but as far as I know there are no iron ore mines in the country. In effect the raw material comes "from" the docks.G-TANK-G wrote: what do you mean by that?
That made me realise that in creating "real" scenarios this will occur a lot. Many places import oil, ore and other raw materials. Of course, many export as well so why not create docks which both accept and produce materials.
and by the way, i'm not that good on drawing the industries but i will try. (i'm right now drawing the gold mine, looks good)

I don't believe the cargo-ids 51 and 52 are copyrighted, so go right ahead. While you're at it, you might want to drop Loewe a line. He was the third NL-Region team member and as far as I know he continued work on it, after Oppie and I stopped.G-TANK-G wrote:I think i will, but i dont know whether scrat would approve because of what happened with your NS-pack 'n' stuff and i dont want to start all of that again. i think i can use his class 1 & 2 coding because on scrat's vehicle creator i've spotted a passenger class 1 & 2 where the select cargo column.
So long and thanks for all the fish.
first of all, it's good to see it isn't copyrighted. second i'll try to 'drop a line' to Loewe. but comparing to my 'region' and the NL-Region the only thing thats the same is the passengers and to me with only one thing in common between the two cant be that much of a problem... cant it?scrat wrote:I don't believe the cargo-ids 51 and 52 are copyrighted, so go right ahead. here we go, an electronics tree:
aluminum mines: produces aluminum, accepts mining equipment
copper mines: produces coppe, accepts mining equipment
sand pit: produces sand, accepts diging equipment
glass factory: produces glass, accepts sand coal
plastic factory: produces plastic
metal works: produces metal goods such as electric/non-electric wires, accepts copper, aluminum, iron, steel

The N.L. Region was perfectly balanced already.G-TANK-G wrote:ok, ok, i've done it nowscrat wrote:Oh, for Pete's sake. "Drop him a line" as in "perhaps you guys can pool resources, share research"...
Please give that one a try with loewe 13.
In that one you're forced to setup a complete transportline without leaving a single part of it.
This would be the real challenge we're all waiting for.
And for Scrat, thanks for lurking around sometime.

There was a techtree for the N.L.Region.G-TANK-G wrote:chevyrider. what do you mean, i dont understand sorry.
You had to transport several hightech goods in a row.
The final product after 12 stages were cars, which you had to transport to the towns.
It was a project of Scrat, Oppie and Loewe 13.
Scrat gave you a hint to contact Loewe 13 to start it up again.
Perhaps he will give you the flowchart of how it has to work.
I can't find it any more on Scrat's site, but a very early design of what could be in it, you can find below.
I hope you will pick it up, alone or with help of that guys.

so you mean to join up with loewe13 and work on the NL-region with him, then have this region like a second part or version of the NL-region?chevyrider wrote:There was a techtree for the N.L.Region.G-TANK-G wrote:chevyrider. what do you mean, i dont understand sorry.

What region it becomes, isn't that important.G-TANK-G wrote:so you mean to join up with loewe13 and work on the NL-region with him, then have this region like a second part or version of the NL-region?
But we all wait for one.
As you read the above posts, you will notice that Scrat encourages you to ask Loewe 13 to cooperate.
I really don't know if Loewe has further intension with the project, but maybe all former designers of it can put their noses in the same direction again.

Perhaps, it is possible to make an electricity as the goods?
The power station will receive coal and to make an electricity, and without it any other manufacture will not work. All electric locomotives will require an electricity. Thus there is a problem of transportation of an electricity, but can be simple for the beginning supply even one power station with coal that all other manufactures worked.
i.e. to make an electricity one of types of a cargo
