It should be possible. Sometime within the next couple of weeks, I hope to have a good TTD hacking session, to see if I can dig up a variety of things. If I can figure out the industry chains, I'll let you know!

I think ideally, a "new environment package" would include a TXT file that would describe, to the TTD Patch Starter, exactly what files needed to go where and what other changes needed to be made, as well as what the name of the environment was and that sort of thing. That way, the user would simply need to unzip the package into a specified place, and the TTD Patch Starter would detect a new package and put that environment on a drop-list of possible environments. When you selected one and ran the game the Patch would automatically know how to respond, or if you played a saved game that had been started in an environment, the Patch would automatically switch everything around for you. I take it that we can add another line to the Savegame file specifying which environment it was, for the Patch to find and respond to? Patched Savegames don't really work in un-patched TTD anyway.

The reason I suggested using TTDPS that way is because, to me it is better to be a little more complicated in the programming in order to make it easier to actually use. That way you don't have to be a programmer to use our changes. If the settings are too complicated lots of people won't bother.

There are still tons of people that play TTD, I know because I know and work with them. Many of them like playing it, and installing the patch is OK, but tinkering with all the myriad settings is a problem ( I used to just send them my CFG file, now I tell them what boxes to check in Starter) and I know they'll never get it right if they have to have a complicated bunch of boxes. But these patches are so great and so much work they should have the widest possible distribution. Who knows, you might get more people working on them :-)

Okay... I'm in, since it looks like you need help. Plus, it gives me something to do.

Can I do the Airport? It seems like the thing I wanna do... and style wise, modern and similar to the one built on an artificial island for the modern one, and just old crappy shecs and stuff for the old one?

Modern airport - like offshore one.
Old airport - similar to others, spartan with a bit of mud an' stuff.

Right?

OK, I put Big Mad Tony on the airport. I like your ideas for the airports very much. If you like you could redo the heliport as well, I think a MUCH taller building would be nice, maybe in green curtainwall glass. Take a look at pictures of Hong Kong for some cool ideas. Please don't make the airport terminal too tall. Tall control tower, yes, but not the terminal building. They don't build them like that because, well, there are a lot of low-flying planes around airports.

Daid, you are right, Adam K. is also working on the grass. You're both listed on it but I can take you off if you like, or leave you on, or whatever is best. There's a lot of grass.

Or you could work on the trees if you like. We can recycle some of the tropical trees, but I think we need some distinctive "oriental" looking ones too.

I will shortly be putting up a table of proposed new trains. Nobody has given any input on this so I will pull it entirely out of my head. I will welcome comments from all and sundry.

I have this idea for the bridges:

1. Wooden -> Stay's the same due to grapics in game
2. Concrete ->Slow Iron truss -> Looks much like the bridge you're suggesting
3. Girder (bowie thing) -> Medium Iron Truss -> ??not sure??
4. Suspension -> White Suspension (Copy from game)
5. Girder (fences on the side) -> Bordeux bridge http://www.structurae.de/en/photos/img2818.php (Max 4 squares)
6. Cantilever -> New Grapics (Don't know what?)
7. Tubular -> Realy fast bridge

I think 5 and 7 can be turned around, anyone another suggestion?

Tubular is coming out in 1990+ can this be changed in TTDAlter?

Scrap yard = impossible to change unless something dramatic happends to the stucture of the industry. For now every tile is just a repetition of a single sprite.

I have changed the batteriefarm into a animal (cattle, sheep or pigs) farm, with the diffrent stages of devellopment.
Please give me your oppinion and/or suggestions.

ps instead of the batteriefarm it could also be made out of the candyfloss forrest.

That look's "great", but it's 20 times the same picture, can't you get more animation in it ?

Sadley no  , the batteriefarm is like the forrest in the temperate climat. There is only one tile which is reproduced 20 times. The only animation consists of the growing of the trees (batteries). This is accomplished by showing 5 diffrent versions of the same tile after oneanother. All the trees are the same, so there it doesn't so as much as here.
Maybe if I make the shed smaller I will get more room for the animals.:D
