Alright, so Im going through my vehicle list, and I see the US 4-8-4 Niagra New York central has 6000 horsepower, but is obsolete by the time I usually start my scenrios. I quickly decide to change that, but when I go to my OBJDATA to drag it into Locotool for editing, I can't find it. Anyone know which DAT it is?

Alrighty Plastik, I have a problem. I haven't even opened my objdata folder since last April, and since then I have been randomly LOSING sound files. I'll be playing along... and next week when I open up scenario editor, I discover that I can - POOF - no longer use some locomotive. So far, the GE 44-ton, the N&W J-class 4-8-4, all the Erie Builts, the E33/44's, and a few others' sound files have evaporated. Could you tell me HOW that could have happened?

ummm..

UAC could have moved a few files around.

most likely user error. one guess is you probably ran your objdata through wraper and deleted the sounds when you did that. a common mistake.
that, or you just forgot what you had?

reinstall your mod packs is the obvious answer.

umm... I no has wrapper... I said I had not touched files. Have not modified. Had all files to begin with. No explanation found.

Yes, I'm trying to re-download all sorts of outdated crap on my machine right as I type this.

Not to sound like a total waste of time here but...
Did you notice that the 484 Niagra has the same horsepower as the 4884, only difference is 200 HP? Heh, forget passenger services, Im running that thing on my coal lines! :3

Fixed a flat car that bugged me.


I also made TTX one.



Remade that ugly Auto Chassis flat.


I tossed the bulldozer on that new TTX flat.

I also redid the offsets on all the Metra stuff and found E8's for metra and BN in a scrap bin.




The bad!?!?!
I accidently ran an update script in my master rollingstock folder.

The bad is that most of the rolling stock is all flagged as an "Update".

The Good is it all has updated track sounds with the old cap graphics.
That now makes the update rather big for no reason.

Mini Update Time

As I posted last night, I had Posted to many Rolling stock Items... Sooo.. ummm... I guess, Why not fix them?

All grain hoppers have been dropped lower to new offsets.

I'm working on the lumber cars now. These are FUBAR!
The render on these is bad.
Even if i drop them lower, the hill sprites are wrong. They sandbox badly.
I'll have to rebuild them from scratch. I'm not sure how far I'll get today.

some people have no clue what i mean by fixing the offsets.
Back when I started this set, I made a decision to align my vehicle to match the position of default objects on the tracks.
while this allowed compatibility with default stuff, it did not look quite right.
Now that there is so much stuff in the pack, there is no real need to use the default stock intermixed with my packs.
by dropping it down, it gives it a much more realistic look.

I am now taking time to fix all the old stock as i get a chance. The deko stuff was all updated and I'm doing the mega pack as i spot items.

here is what we are looking for:

notice the boxcars match the default stock still and are to high.
if we can start a list of what got bad offsets, we can get them all patched up and release a new mega-pack.

All of the updates along with LJS stuff can`t be modified by Wrapper for LocoTool. It says that *.dat is not a .dat file. Do you notice this?

I just ran my update and "wrapped" it.

It worked fine for me.

there are a few lines of code that Locotool will compile and not decomplie.

I have not looked at LJS in a while.

But only happends with new updates, the rest of the OBJData can be modified and/or viewed with Locotoo Frontend, which also don´t show for example, the LJS's SP locomotives or new UP CET's

All of the Logging flatcars are rebuilt from scratch.

I have not tested them out yet. i'll let you guys do that.
