If you could ask Michael to run the NFO through NFORenum, it might find the cause of this problem. It reports about 25 problems (not bad for 6600+ sprites), and the few I did manually confirm appear to be problems in the NFO, not with NFORenum.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Hmm, thats odd. I was using a dev version to work with A41 (too lazy to update), but I just updated then to see if it was a new bug.

Some questions:

1. Is this in a new game, or a savegame that you have been using with the DB XL before updating?

2. Have you tried deactivating and reactivating the grf?

I'm not having this problem, at all, either in savegames or not. Not having any problems with pre 0.8 games either.

Perhaps post newgrf files too, just to be sure. I have contacted him, but it would be good if Michael had all the info he needed to see if it was a bug :). Thanks guys!

Turns out it's a bug in the patch:
Michael Blunck wrote:That´s a(nother) bug in a42.

Using a42pre1 or a42pre1, a41pre1 or a40 it doesn´t show up. Put it on
Josef´s bug list, so he has something to do when returning to Saskatoon
I am having a similar bug with the US Set, where I can only build passenger coaches in the electrified depots :|.

Well, at least we know it isn't a DB Set/US Set bug :D.

additional to Raichese, from Blunck's website:
There are some small bugs in the DB set v0.8, namely
- BR111 not using mail vans in S-Bahn livery,
- only four types of containers are used instead of 32.

However, due to some bugs in ttdpatch´s version alpha 42 which have interdependencies to DB set features, v0.81 will be released together w. alpha 43, possibly in january.
so, there it is.

Can you quote the exact error message? That message isn't in the patch...

I'm wondering, the tankers in MB's NewShips package won't carry water in the Tropics. Shouldn't they?

Normally, there's no ocean near the desert where you'd have to transport it to

You'd think so, but it's not always that way.

afaik water pumps are only found in desert areas, far from any body of water.

Canals are an option, yes. But would it really be worth it? :)

another otion is that the water is not transported directly from the source to the destination; you could have water trucks to go to the harbor area and load a ship with containers or something like that.

by the way, the ships were one of the first advances in TTD graphics and there has been nothing else since then... I'd love to see new boats for 1920 (this is new old boats  )

Haas anybody else given a go at ships? and I don't mean the [request]type, the "I know a lot of ships, and the XX should be put in the game because is cool" type; but to really work on ships, look for documentation and technical data, and make some graphics, even if they are sketches and it's not a complelte job.

In summer when germans tourists "invade" the isle Mallorca water is transported to it by ships. And here is an amazing picture of the Suez canal.

That error message is from OpenTTD...but something very weird is going on. It seems MB updated it and now it no longer works in ottd. I distinctily remember the newest version working but now it just crashes...very odd.
