Version 1.0.0
Ok, not all of the trains are in it, you will miss the Regiorunner etc. But now you can have a real taste of how this pack tastes. Each time a new train will be addes the version will raise with a number (e.g. V1.1.0 is the next one) Download in first post.

p.s.: Patches will use the last number so V1.0.1 is a patch!

Well isn't that nice. Not even a mention of a certain person helping you make the trains look good.

Without this person, you would be releasing pixelated monsters without shading as can be seen on the first couple of pages. This behaviour strongly contradicts the idea of a community, which this forum is all about.

I will NOT be helping you anymore on combining MSTS sprites and smoothing them out. Plastikman and others already received an updated script, you on the other hand will get nothing from me anymore.

I am boycotting this pack and all your future works (or rather say conversions as there is not much work involved compared to building the train from scratch in 3D) and although I can't force anyone to do the same, I suggest others think about this issue as well and react accordingly.

Peace and out,

I don't think there's anything wrong with the readme. Obviously it was written for this pack and there's only one thing missing - crediting someone who has helped you. I didn't get one word of thanks from you, not in the readme, not in this thread or the first post.

Then you didnt read it correctly because it stated a "no breakdowns" yes it says thanks to CT. But this wasnt the correct version.

This is the correct one:
Credits:
- Models by: http://www.Christrains.com
- Graphical enhanchments: Strongbow (tt-forums.net)
- Vehicle Creator: Scrat (tt-forums.net / http://www.locomotion-fanpage.net)
- Conversions: Illegal_Alien (tt-forums.net and users.tt-forums.net/locotrains/)

Please before you continue;
- Back-up your original .dat files (usualy in \program files\atari\locomotion\objdata ) (Although this packs doesnt replace anything its wise to do so anyway)
- Make sure that Locomotion doesnt run.

After installation:
- Run Locomotion; make a new scenario and select the new trains.

For technical supoort or others:
- E-mail: locotrains@gmail.com
- Website: http://users.tt-forums.net/locotrains

Please be warned!
- This package can only be downloaded from tt-forums.net or users.tt-forums.net/locotrains. Here you can find the most up-to-date versions. (Later it can also be found on http://www.christrains.com)

ok i just downloaded it. i must say the strongbow method keeps the colors and details much cripser then the old brightside method.

we just spent all afternoon with a new script for removing some artifacting that hapens of ther is a ladder or a panto that caused bleed over or hazing.

Are NL diesel engines that "short"? what was your Z settings on the diesel? -.7? -.8? i know you told me before i just never looked at one finnished.

anyways. glad you stuck to it.

Much better.
Illegal_Alien wrote:But next time try to ask it nicely.
I don't think I should ask at all - giving credit is a natural thing if you're being helped. You've spent some hours presumably with this pack, taking a minute to write thank you is the least you can do. Be friendly and others will be friendly to you - lesson of the day.

Ehhm, strongbow, it seems illegal _alien was nice enough (to me), are you ok now on the read_me matter :?:
Btw. I had some problems with your harsh reaction, why does it have to be this way
If you have a problem with something why can't we keep it civilised and calm
If you're ok on the matter now don't react to me
Well, back to work, lot's of it in the near future

Yes, my reaction was harsh, but I've thought about it for a while before writing it and it seemed the best way to go considering IA's nature.

I've offered IA my help and got a quite harsh reaction from him (scroll back a couple of pages - something with this community should drop dead), then when he accepted, there was not a word of thanks. I even posted a message "Gee, how did you do that?" or similar and still, no word of thanks, nor credit given. When the release came and there was no mention of me helping him, I got a little tiny bit pissed of course.

Still, I wouldn't dare to use this kind of attitude against anyone else I know on this forum as they value intellectual properties and respect each other. On the other hand, I don't think IA would fix the readme for this release had i posted another mild comment saying "Gee, how did you do that?". And as you can see, my harsh post made him change it and the kid might think next time about these issues a bit more when he cooperates with others.

The only people I don't tolerate are intolerant ones.

As i already said before your post that i made a wrong readme and it will be fixed in the next releases. But you are making it a huge problem, wich it isnt.

And that reaction of me whas because i made a poll of it, everybody whas happy with it and suddenly it changed back. Wich was one of the reasons to get mad.

And thats why i am usualy work alone, you dont have people who are "yelling" at you when you make a mistake.

I can't really call your improvement an intellictual property. It's something already written in the program, so you can't claim it on the improvement or method. A line in the README is nice, but sure not required for this... I still believe Illegal_Alien had the wrong README added, since it can happen easily (I can ensure you that).

Just stop fighting about a readme and keep it ontopic. This topic is about the ChrisTrains-conversion by Illegal_Alien. If you want to fight it out, do it in PM please. There are enough people reading this topic who are interested in the conversion, since it has also the photoskin-versions of some trains. I like his conversion and use them in combination with the other NL Pack currently available. The ChrisTrains-pack from CT.com himself got some cars the NL Pack doesn't had, so using the CT-conversion/CT-pack would only add more trains instead of having two different versions of the same train!

Again:
Stop the fighting.

My intellectual property is the composition flow (=kind of a script) I built in the program Eyeon Fusion, which took me about 3 evenings to do. He uses it for every train he produces and doesn't even know what it does.

Don't give me this bulls*** about it not being an intellectual property - I do similar stuff commercially and I'm getting paid very good for having similar intellectual properties. I'm really getting sick of this. I asked for credits for the time and most of all knowledge on creating this composition file and explaining it to a unthankful person.

What I get is flak from the moderator cause I was being harsh to a person who is behaving much worse than me IMHO and then comments like this from people who don't even have the slightest clue what I did.

Now, case closed. I got credits in the end and this concludes a mistake I did and will never do again, helping someone who doesn't appreciate it.

Anyone wishing to pursue this matter further, do so over PM.

Ok back to normal. (Apologies for the fault in the readme)

I just found out that the NS 1800 / 1600 arent using the catenary as they use to be.

I wont make a patch for it because release 1.2 will have it in it with offcourse some new trains.

I will add, the Plan V/T and the Mat54 plus the Motorpost and the (V)IRMS to the pack, including the yellow DD-AR / mDDM, DM'90 and the Lint41.

Then separate livery packs will be released.

Wich will be:
- Mat'54 Liverypack
- Plan V/T Livery pack
- Lint41 Livery pack
- DM'90 Liverypack
- (V)IRM livery pack
- Motorpost Livery pack
- Koploper Livery pack

P.s.: I am now using an other way to combine the trains. Wich is getting the same results.
