BINGO!
That can connect every household in the UK with Stratford!

Edit: For free!

Edit 2: enough.

Alright alright... Let's stop it now.

Seriously, Jamie's surprise in the first post is justified. Trains every 5 minutes to Stratford is bordering on the insane!

But very impressive if they manage to pull it off!

I don't think they'll be overwhelmed in the sense of there being too many passengers... Maybe in the sense of unreliability causing the whole thing to collapse inwards.

Thanks Owen :)

It will be indeed! I really do hope they can to save quite a national embarrassment. Shouldn't be too difficult to do though. They are quite efficient at running down that line as I've experienced :)
Though one thing that does concern me is the more trains that go on, the greater the chances are for something to go wrong and... well, that doesn't bare thinking about really. We shall soon see though! i can't imagine their being an overwhelming number of passengers though.

The whole Stratford station complex including tube is anticipated to have a train every minute. That's getting toward to Clapham Junction levels!

I'm tempted to go there during the Olympics just to watch how it copes.

Indeed! Are they planning on increasing the number of Tube/DLR services?

Don't think they can, really!

Anyone know what the headways are on HS1? If there's a train every 5 mins, how on earth can they get the Eurostars through?

There's loads of room. There's not actually that many Eurostar services each day anyway and as I understand it the plan is to only run the Javelins to Ebbsfleet for onward connections with all destinations beyond being ditched for the period of the Olympics. There might be a couple of minutes hold up for a Eurostar but they are doing the same speed as a 395 through that section anyway.
