The class 87 was a direct development of the class 86, coming along about 5 years later. It was noticeable from being more stable at higher speeds, and visually recognisable with 2 cab windows, compared to the class 86 3 windows.

The class 92 came along nearly 20 years after the class 87.

We already have reference photos of all trains: http://wiki.openttd.org/index.php/GFX_r ... references , its the road vehicle pictures we need, names of which are here

Also, all trains will end up in company colour liveries anyway. If we used real life liveries for all trains, I'd imagine it'd just get confusing. Of course, we could still have them, as an option.

You mean you need stuff like:

Leyland Leopard Bus?

(someone might want to save the pictures from that auction before it disappears).

Google Pictures works even better.

http://www.busphotos.co.uk/GREEN%20BUS-RTE110G-1992.jpg

Or even this whole page on the bus

Unfortunately, Chris Didn't go too far with Lorry names, so we will need to see if the manufacturers he mentioned had any such trucks.

The class 86 loco shown on the wiki is clearly at a shed Open Day, and not under catenary. Thus, it cannot be powered and has lowered its collection gear.

The picture against the class 87 is a class 47 diesel - heck, even you can read the number starts "47xxx". Thats the problem with wikis... they are often wrong.

Did you bother to check the links I gave which showed plenty of photographs of class 86 and 87 with electric gear raised?

Hi there, I just discovered this thread ... I've always been using just the wiki ... and now I discover there's already a lot more than I saw there ... why don't you put the stuff from here into the wiki? It would be particularly useful to have a general repository in the wiki for props like cars/boxes/letterbox etc... and textures

You've linked to two good pics of the class 86. The 92 looks nothing like the 87, though. For 87, think "side-profile: class 86", "front profile: class 47". You would then have the right mix of 86 general styling, but with class 47-like windows.

Ok, i'll start with mail. The big problem is that your only gonna get one style truck per country. However, if you want this to be Britain based then you want to go for an ERF in royal mail livery. DAF might come in later on but i'm not sure, so, give me a little bit longer.

Well OTTD itself is "Britain Based" due to Chris Sawyer being British, with Tropical being Central/South America and Arctic being North America. The trains for them being the same.
