No, changing the XML, you do with Locotool.
First try to open a dat file with that and look in that file.
Also look at the png's in the subdirectoty you find there.
If you think you understand a little then of what to do.. you could consider to change things.
If you don't, forget the project.
It's not that easy at all.

Hello folks!

I need some advice. I'd like to create a new "set" (dunno the correct term, and I don't have the game with
me atm, sorry), besides the three default ones (Alps, USA, UK), in which I'd only like
to have the Hungarian vehicles. I tried it by cloning REGUK.DAT into REGHU.DAT, and in
the XML I changed the vehicles to the Hungarian ones. What I wanted with this, is that when
I create a scenario in this new set, in the vehicles list only the Hungarian vehicles would be
checked by default. The problem is, they still aren't, and I must check them one by one manually again each time.
What is wrong? Is there a more simple way to do it?

Load an existing "Hungarian" scenario you made, and change the map.

Just run it through Locotool again, and it should create a .dat.

When you have open the xml then delet the old DAT or replace it in a new folder. :wink: Then you become a clean new DAT with your edited datas.

The .BAK is the backup of the original, isn't it?

Anyways, you could delete the .BAK file, but you don't need to. Just place the .DAT files you've created inside the objdta folder and it should work. :D

Maybe I wasnt clear on my point, or maybe Im not understanding this.
I edit the XMl In the Locotool Folder.
After editing, I open the edited XML With Locotool.
The XML Then turns into ROADUS2.BAK
Would I need to delete the "Old"Dat of ROADU2 to make the NEW One into a DAT?
Please tell me I was right

ROADUS2.BAK = OLD ROADUS2.dat
ROADUS2.DAT = NEW ROADUS2.DAT

when drag and drop the .XML the above occurs.

*goes back to his cave*.
