It's amazing how much time you can find for drawing once you see your own artwork coded, and in a game.Red*Star wrote:(Btw, also not in two weeks, because I have no time for any further work.)

Great work, this is quite an accomplishment.

That certainly is an impressive piece of art, but I don't think it quite fits the rest of the TT landscape and buildings, TBH.Red*Star wrote:

hmm, quite contradictory, although it's a different ball part, vehicles and stations. still, odd to hear both comments from one and the same person.Purno wrote:I'm not adding shading, this is not my style and it's not necessary when there's enough details. I'm not going to draw like TT's original vehicles. Sorry.
Actually, these are two different things. For my trains I have no problems myself (I think they look fine ingame), however, this building looks different (after I thought about it, I think the main problem is that it's so damn huge, compared to TT buildings).astath wrote:Purno wrote:That certainly is an impressive piece of art, but I don't think it quite fits the rest of the TT landscape and buildings, TBH.hmm, quite contradictory, although it's a different ball part, vehicles and stations. still, odd to hear both comments from one and the same person.Purno wrote:I'm not adding shading, this is not my style and it's not necessary when there's enough details. It is quite high which makes it look a bit out of place. It is nice apart from that thoughPurno wrote:That certainly is an impressive piece of art, but I don't think it quite fits the rest of the TT landscape and buildings, TBH.
I can allow people to only build it from 1992 (when the plans to build a new Hauptbahnhof were made), 1995 (when initial construction began on the underground tunnels), 2001 (when the SBahn construction began), 2002 (when the main hall was completed), 2005 (when the constuction of the towers began) or 2006 (when the station was officially opened). Note that I might have missed some years here.wallyweb wrote:Definitely in the early years this station would look out of place but in the later years, especially with TTRSv3 and its large modern buildings, this station should be right at home. I'm looking forward to trying it out.
That's imho a good idea, but I'm not sure which year would be the best. Maybe Red*Star has an idea. Just a suggestion what about 2000 as a compromise?XeryusTC wrote: I can allow people to only build it from 1992 (when the plans to build a new Hauptbahnhof were made), 1995 (when initial construction began on the underground tunnels), 2001 (when the SBahn construction began), 2002 (when the main hall was completed), 2005 (when the constuction of the towers began) or 2006 (when the station was officially opened). Nice to hear you making good progress...Edit: I've completed the plaza. I'll now begin working on the main part of the station.
Yeah, huge cities have huge train stations. Look at the original. If you don't call that huge, then I don't know...Purno wrote: after I thought about it, I think the main problem is that it's so damn huge, compared to TT buildings.
It was intended by me that you use the standard ones, as I also wrote in the "prologue". If the standard ones don't fit, then I've done something wrong =)XeryusTC wrote:Red*Star: I miss the sprites of the platforms and I failed a bit to extract them properly from your mockups. Could you provide me with those sprites? I'll use the default TTD in the mean while.
Ok, I probably forgot or didn't notice it then, it is a long text to readRed*Star wrote:It was intended by me that you use the standard ones, as I also wrote in the "prologue". Still working on it, but it is for about 2/3s done nowjamesvassie wrote:Woah, i come back from a relaxing trip to Berlin, and i see theyve made the station i travelled through a dozen times into a TTD station
Wow. Working really fast, eh? Just an option: Would you feel like doing the whole mordern stations set? Then I would have an motivation to split all my stations down finally. (Currently I've no time for that, but maybe in a month or so.)XeryusTC wrote:Still working on it, but it is for about 2/3s done nowjamesvassie wrote:Woah, i come back from a relaxing trip to Berlin, and i see theyve made the station i travelled through a dozen times into a TTD station.
