Right, I hadn't noticed there was a setting for custom tunnels for both road and rail. Setting road tunnel to temperate and rail tunnel to disabled got me this, which is very much an improvement:
The "back" of the rail tunnel does look a bit odd in snow but that's really a minor detail.

That's right, the U&RaTT tunnel sprites are drawn (will replace) the basic graphs, you need to manually adjust for the appropriate climate.
It seems to me that the U&ReRMM 2 is outdated, I am designing the U&ReRMM 32bpp.

Re: [NRT]Ufiby's Road, Tram, Trolleybus and Rail track
I have a question about the Town Road in U&RaTT.
Starting in 1930 the suburbs have black asfalt while the inner city has something that looks a lot like the Concrete Road.
In 1950 this changes so the inner city now has asfalt with yellow stripes.
Is this behaviour intentional? I would have expected the 1950's look the whole time, or at least just plain asfalt with no stripes before 1950.

This is normal behavior for a city. It may have an asphalt or stone-paved road in its center. This is a stone-paved road that is an integral part of some of the historical streets.
