And the last ones;

functions of the station;

- Visual destination selection (redstone lamps)
- Audio selection sounds (Noteblocks)
- Automatic selection reset when cart is launched. (Detectorrail)
- Auto return to arrival station when no destination selected.
- Automatic cart drop into dispenser when exiting cart at arrival station.
- Automatic cart drop when cart is at arrival station but not moved to dispenser. (detectorrail)
- Visual and Audio signal when a cart is dropped in dispenser
- Visual and Audio signal when dispenser is full
- Audio and visual signal when a cart is comming from dispenser
- Cart dispenser call button. (With audio and visual signal)

And probaly some stuff i forgot. Will post later a more compact smaller version of the station with less functions. But way more compact then this behemoth. (On 7 a small bit can be seen on the right.)

I'm not sure if you guys have seen this already.

Anyway, I was planning on using modern Minecraft features such as more useful height limit to make a better, actually useful one, can't get myself to do it though.

Looks nice. :) My server's got a bukkit plugin that lets you connect regular minecarts and use sign functions and commands to set routes for them, and force them to stop at stations for a set time. The only problem is that when players travel by night, they don't travel quite so fast that the skellies can't get some arrows in at them. Use at your own risk.

I have a tekkit setup on a server with some friends where we have put in a railcraft minecart transport system using redpower to fully allow route setting and cart detection for safety

Whats the name of that plugin? Sounds intresting.

I really wish some of my friends would try Technic/tekkit. I'd really love to play it online to see what it's like with others.

Well, I've got thus notion that it was cartcraft, but I can't quite remember. It's fairly popular I believe, so just look up something of that ilk on bukkit forums. I got rid of it some couple weeks ago after it slowed the server down to the point of crippling it. You shouldn't have too many problems with it though; I run the server on my crappy ancient PC that can barely play the game really. I still haven't broken down and bought something made in the past decade yet, but I should do so soon.

Ah ok, well my friend has it running on a rather good rig, and has at least 4 GB of RAM assigned to it. So it should work, but on the other hand, i did seem to crash the server with a certain redstone creation on the "normal" world. So i just locked it up as i did not had any time yet to remove it.

I've been playing around on Tekkit with my mate.

Well, I've been playing around on Tekkit... he hasn't really apart from building some machine that spawns pigs and turns them into cooked pork. Pure evil if you ask me...
However, I wanted to do everything from scratch, no cheating.

This is the progress so far - despite a lot of creeper attacks!

My cottage on an island. Took quite a while just to build the land out to the sea which sits above a cave underground so placement wise, it was very handy!

Side of the house and the swimming pool. I was planning on having a system to fill and empty the pool at will with red-power. However, it's going to be incredibly expensive so I'm not sure any more...

Inside the house with custom-built stairs.
The inside is incomplete. Not sure what to make in there yet which is the main problem. I'm sure it'll come in time!^^ Might work on the light switches.

Basement of my house.
Filled with lots of chests storing items, some crafting bits, and some machinery.
Eventually, this'll all move over to my factory warehouse, but I'm still building that and trying to work out ways to stop mobs spawning inside the damn thing!!!

Volcano Pump.
This took a while to set up and it pumps lava back to the facility for storing liquid (see next photo).

Problem is, most of the lava inside was obsideon for some buggy reason, and there wasn't a pool of lava at the bottom. Quite annoying to say the least!

And one more because of the dreaded attachment limit of 3.

Power facility under construction.
The facility in view is for storing ava and water. The water will eventually be used for cooling machines/engines if needed or anything else that may require water. The lava is now fed to an underground powerplant with a geothermal generator. That was built after this screenshot though. I've also littered the place with torches and interdiction torches - yet STILL... mobs keep spawning inside the perimeter and in my factory. It makes no sense!

Haha :P
I kind of know what I want but it's just figuring out what, where, and using which materials. I'm using redpower as well which means I can cut-up blocks and make anything. Just deciding what to make is tricky... Need a kitchen somewhere.

Decorating the inside is the crappiest part of building anything in Minecraft. Usually I spend days building the walls and roof of a building and when I start on the inside I feel like nothing fits in because it always feels so bulky and not fitting with the general style of the building.

Geo Ghost wrote:And finally, my nuclear reactor.
This is stored well-away from the site, very far underground and with a hell of a lot of shielding around it.
I wanted to avoid nuclear power originally but it was taking a long time for my solar panels to power my Mass Fabricator enough so I wanted a faster way but also a means of supplying high-volumes of energy back to the factory from off-site. Problem is, I built it too far away really so the chunks at either the factory or the reactor end up 'pausing' when I move between the two places.
The reactor started with a big hole in the ground which I lined with obsideon. I built a kind of 'chamber' out of reinforced stone for the reactor to sit in the middle then slowly started building more layers around it.
The reactor is very well protected now. It is bathed in water the surrounded by two levels of reinforced stone/glass, then a gap for me to walk around and enter the reactor, a layer of obsideon, double layer of reinforced stone, double layer of obsideon, then a combined double layer of those two.
The reactor is a Mark-I reactor and won't go critical by itself at all but I just wanted to make extra sure it wouldn't end up taking out my cave and such. Safety first!
isn't there in tekkit/buildcraft a way to make a chunk being loaded at all times? I am sure Duncan was mentioning it in latest Yogscast Tekkit serie
what are you looking at? it's a signature!

Tis indeed! Called a World Anchor. Only found out about it in a new game which I play on my mates Tekkit server now.
Actually, I'll dig up some screenshots. I'm the only one playing on it sadly. I keep running out of ideas for projects!

Right let's see.

I started off with a hut and a small mine shaft what went underwater and pretty far underground. Unfortunately, creepers made good work of blowing up my hut... constantly. Kept losing a lot of items. Managed to build up fences around it to keep them out but still kept getting swarmed by mobs.
Eventually I got myself together an energy condenser after a long and tiring hunt for diamonds and I then started on my road of alchemy. I started creating all kinds of wood for my new home and then decided to place it over the mineshaft. Though that required me building an island first.
Spent a while playing around with the handsaw and different combinations of blocks and this was the result of the work :)

Island cottage

Worth noting around this time I was fed up with the texture pack. So after a little bit of searching, came across a much better one which is also used by yogscast actually.
This is how the house looks now. The structure of it hasn't changed but I began work on a pool, with working lights, and some redpower machines. One plan was to have two pumps. One would empty the pool, and the other would fill it. Though due to the nature of water in minecraft, it wasn't possible.

With my hut looking like several bombs had hit it, I demolished it and started building some other things. First was a production warehouse out of brick, intending to house all my machines (which still haven't been moved there..) and a pump station for lava and water. The lava is pumped into a generator room (shown in the next photos) which is based underground between the warehouse and the pump station. You can just about see the entrance in the photo. Sometime later I built up a wall around the site to keep out pesky little sods and played around with redpower to make some sliding reinforced doors.
