That is really cool, Oskar
eis_os wrote:sorry I never understand your rant every time about the sprite limit...
I only said that someday LV set can beat this limit. I do my best to prevent it. If you'll look at LV4 and compare it with LV 33/4, you'll find that I removed about 20% of truck sprites (for loading states), but now it is five and a half thousands active sprites
eis_os wrote:Be glad that you have your own sprite limit!
I can't say how glad am I with it. That is really very good feature Oskar! :P
eis_os wrote:(That are around 200 sprites per bus/truck/tram id, or 40 for 8 views, I know it's not suited for putting all trucks in game, but it's a lot better then the pre sprite limit patch days, you only need to worry in your own region and don't think about, say stations, trains and other sets...)
It is really cool. but if a truck has 30 cargos and 2 states for loading, it is 480 sprites per truck. That's why I decided to limit trucks with 16 IDs. That would be about 7700 sprites.
eis_os wrote:You tend to make everything very complicate George, last time I tried to load parts of you bus set, the result was only errors I need x other sets, what the purpose of having separate GRFs when there all are need?
Hey, I ALREADY did LV4 ONE files
eis_os wrote:If you have a good idea for the sprite limit, feel free to tell the world. My sprite limit patch seems to very stable since the beginning and is fully compatible to TTD. I think you should worry more about ways to reduce sprites on your side, or bring new ideas to do it (as Michael tries to do).
I do everything I can :?

George wrote:Many of them are already united. Some IDs hold more than 10 buses! I use this feature as much as possible.
That means you have much and much more than 50 buses
They are about 80 now. More to go
Bastiaan wrote:That is just too many, George. And I don't use even one of them...
If you do not use them it does not mean that other people do the same.
krtaylor wrote:The more I read here, the more I like my thought of keeping the three separate regional bus sets. I know personally I've used maybe 1/10 of the busses.
I suppose I use not more trains when I run the US set. That is Ok. Everyone prefers his own vehicles list
krtaylor wrote:But as I play through different regions, and using busses appropriate to each region, I'd get a chance to use more of them. If they're all in one massive set, I'll just stick with my half-dozen favourites and leave it at that. That's a waste.
That would be good solution if they have similar behaviour. But in the current state ... I'm not sure

I know that. That's why we are hoping, in a future version of the US set, to split things up a bit - so you get somewhat different trains in all three climates. Of course some trains were used everywhere, and would appear in all 3, but not all of them. Probably half would be the same in any given climate, and half would be different.

And lets everyone play with trains on Cristmas :) on IDs 38h-47h of cause :)
And if someone would bring more than 16 trams, he can use IDs 37 and below, Ok?

Merry Xmas even from my part!

I saw you added Wile's trucks to your ID set, and that's great (they're very well drawn and it's good to have them).
However, I think it'd be better to call them "Mercedes 1215" instead of "FAP 1215". Those vehicles were built under license in Serbia so, while it's normal that they're named FAP in the localized set, I guess it'd be more sensible to call them with the original brand (Mercedes) in the international LV set.

Keep it up!

I've added FAP 1215 graphics to LV4 20 minutes ago. Now I need the characteristics. Could you help me?

I suppose Mercedes name has to have some more letters, does not it?

Here are data:
Introduction year: 1983
Speed: 95 km/h (FAP 1215/1315), 104 km/h (FAP 1417), 86 km/h (FAP 1518), 65 km/h (FAP 1921), 100 km/h (FAP 2022)
Capacity: 7 t (FAP 1215), 8 t (FAP 1315), 7 t (FAP 1417), 9 t (FAP 1518), 11 t (FAP 1921), 12 t (FAP 2022).
FAP 1417, 1518, 1921, 2022 are hoppers, FAP 1215 and 1315 are for other cargos.
However, capacities are so small, but you mentioned me you'll change them to fit in TT world.
More data you can find in Serbian RVs tracking table. From which location we can download GRF?

George wrote:I suppose Mercedes name has to have some more letters, does not it?
I dunno. Actually, the information I found here makes me think the model names were the same, without any additional letters, between the original Mercedes and the licensed FAP versions (if you look at the webpage, there are some posts about Mercedes trucks of that era which really look like the same as Wile drew). So I guess we could just change the brand and leave the model names untouched.
Anyway, I've always posted a mex on a couple of forums, let's see if somebody replies.

-EDIT- I tried to run a search on the same webpage, the results are displayed following
this link. There seem to appear the original models, and the names all seem to match those of FAP's counterparts. So I guess we're set.
-/EDIT-

BTW, maybe I'm using an old version or something, but it appears there are no early (1920ish) railroad wagons in MB's DBSet that can carry things like sand? :( And fertilizer is carried with passenger wagons? ?(

I suppose it should be NG or SK

Visit http://www.fap.co.yu
Site is very good (it has English version too) and there are technical drawings of trucks vith all data (I suppose you need weights and powers)
About name? I told somewhere I agree with Mercedes name (FAP is not much known brand outside Serbia, and those trucks anyway were made under Mercedes license), but everything George decides, I'll respect (it's his set anyway, altough I'll be glad to see brand from my country  )
And yes, not to forget: I drew trucks with big George's help! He drew allmost all cargos, and gave me big help with shading and detailing.
George: you could change "You must disable Ikarbus buses set" with "You must disable Serbian trucks and buses set".

Yes, you're correct. I just got an answer from that forum: those trucks are NG. So i think that replacing the "FAP" with the "Mercedes NG" before the model number would make these vehicles perfect. Good job George and Wile :D

Here they are, in a zipfile. There are some screenshots showing the weird refitting options of some vehicles, my newgrf status, and both ttdpatch.cfg and newgrf.cfg.

Thanx in advance!

Wait for DBXL v0.9 which includes graphics for all ECS goods.

Would you just pic up identifiers from ECS vector's files or would you define your own newcargos.grf?
