Well while I can't draw ( really bad at drawing ), I have been trying to learn how to code in NFO for past few months, but unfortunately still far away of coding like you or buttercup..Zephyris wrote:Hey guys! Just a quick double post for emphasis

So I can only congratulate you for an amazing work in this project and give my best wishes for this project, every time a new post is created in this topic, I run here to open the topic and see what new graphics you have done.. Your drawing work is truly amazing, if I ever get the money to create a game company I'm sure I will contact you for the graphics
You're the head and heart of this project, and once finished ( hopefully not far away ), I hope it get's full support from developers and became the standard set released with 0.7.0, 0.8.0 wherever the number once finished.. You fully deserve that accomplishment..
So thank you very much Zephyris, for your time and work on this project and I hope you never give up until it's finished, it wouldn't be the same project with such amazing quality..
Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
Thank you for the kind words! You have inspired me to bigger and better things - I am working on the planes! These will be done in a similar way to the boats, ie. 3D in Blender...
Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
Can the already existing shapes/outlines for the vehicles be used when painting the sprites or do you have to actually change the shape in some tiny way to avoid copyright issues?
Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
It has to be a complete non-traced redraw, if that makes sense...

Nice, my favourite plane
Maybe you could add some windows and make the shadows a little brighter?

Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
I'm trying to get a good window texture (atm there is a simple black shadeless object). I have also designed a new texture, the colours better but the shading angles currently a bit off...

- We don't have the permission for these yet, but if we would have, they'd own.

This is actually quite easy once you get into it! I haven't fixed the shading yet, but here are a couple more planes...

Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
So I tried the more futuristic futuristic planes, what do you think? They are a bit different, but I would say slightly more realistic...

Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
I have two futuristic planes left; the Yate Z-Shuttle and Airtaxi A34-1000. Both are really odd, any suggestions on how to make them look plausible?

Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
Well the Airtaxi A34-1000 is really stupid ( sorry Chris Sawyer ), but in 2001 I don't remember any plane like thatZephyris wrote:I have two futuristic planes left; the Yate Z-Shuttle and Airtaxi A34-1000. Both are really odd, any suggestions on how to make them look plausible?
I know in 1995, Chris Sawyer may thought that in that time 6 years could be the birth of new kind of planes, but please totally unreal ( even for TTD ) ...
I guess it should be based on some real plane from 2001..
The Yate Z-Shuttle, could be like the Virgin tourist shuttle
