Current project: Station reset and stats (greatly improved)

Post by Celestar »

Hi there.

I'm just working on a little patch that'll enable the display of station stats (not yet sure what I'll put there, suggestions?).

I'll also add a "reset station" function for the Selectable Cargo goods, it already works pretty nicely.

Hope to have a diff file by the end of today.

Man, Celestar, you are spitting out usefull patches at an amazing rate! And again I hope that the devs will merge some of your stuff into svn, because these things are really usefull. Knowing how many trains service a station is usefull information anytime, especially in large homogenous networks (ie all iron-ore trains), like I like to build them.

Way to go!

Usefull information could be:
- The time that there is a vehicle versus that there is none, to see how much % of the time there is a vehicle waiting for cargo and the station is thus empty. To see if the train-load is good enough.

it would be nice to have this stat for all the cargo accepted/produced separately

This patch will be delayed, as the game crashes all the time when applying it, still debugging.

Maybe you could only display stuff that has been accepted before / is produced rather than displaying everything? It looks good though. :D

Yeah right, crash was only due to an utter newbie mistake on my side.

Here we go.

Isn't that displayed on the industry itself? Or do you mean something else?

I guess I have misunderstood your question

i would like a feature that would not-merge all 'en-route' cargos of the same type
in TTD was that if I delivered (and left at station) the same cargo to one station from many other places then 'en-route' was only from the last one ...
what are you looking at? it's a signature!

WOW this is truly sexy.

ok one thing i would LOVE as part of this is the option to select trains and such that are schedualed for the station.

as when deleting a station, its often a requirment to change all the vehicles going to it, to another airport for example. (so they are not left with blank orders)

so being able to click on "buses" for eample and have a list pop up saying

Bus 1
bus 6
bus 25
bus 75
cool blue bus

and then being able to click on them, and having their screen pop up.

;)

now that would be like the icing on the cake. (functional statistics)

but as it is now its very impressive

That was actually my next step, just to have a display WHAT vehicles are actually scheduled for the station. But that might take some time. Meanwhile I have removed all the "0" from the display.

A few things:

1. One of my stations reports way too many vehicles arriving (intermittently) I have attached a screenshot of this to explain better.

2. It should only display listings of cargo that is coming or going from that station. So if there is no passengers then passengers doesn't appear in the screen.

3. It would be interesting to see a figure for how much money is made in each station.

Sweet patch BTW :D

What OS have you got?

Also Celestar have you got a version of the patch that works with TortoiseSVN? The patch you have uploaded is a different format which it doesn't understand.

Please wait until tomorrow noon. There is something messy either with my patch or with the diff file that renders it unusable. I'll have that repaired soon, but currently I'm trying to get some other work done.

I hate to be a bother, but might I suggest adding sums of cargo within range? That way you can know how many more "goods"-desiring buildings you need before your station accepts them...
