TTDPatch 2008 Wishlist
OpenTTD users please see the topic tree at the top. You are in the TTDPatch section, and that is ok, but if you have any wishes for OpenTTD, they would be better placed somewhere in the OpenTTD section. Feel free to copy the theme of this topic. I'll be going over to the OpenTTD section just to see what their wishes for 2008 might be.
This is not an off topic discussion. All wishes must be directly related to TTDPatch game play. Moderators will be asked to remove irrelevant posts.
================================================================================
A new year is upon us.
T'is a time of resolutions made and resolutions broken.
T'is a time to look to the future and to perhaps get some idea of what it might bring us.
T'is a time to make known what we are hoping for.
T'is a time of wishlists.
Some of my wishes follow in no particular order of importance:
================================================================================
- Lots of new grf's for us to play with.
- A fix to the aRV code to allow trailers to refit too.
- Some eye candy grf's for the New Objects button provided by Oskar (eis_os).
- A more complete set of river banks.
- Larger maps (not holding my breath on that one ).
- Enough bug fixes to allow a beta release out of the nightlies (alpha).
- Lots of encouragement and support for those new folk who wish to try to develop, code and draw.
================================================================================
Ok ... Who's next?

that is what Ameecher is referring to. I think we will get a beta 10 then 2.6 stable.Ameecher wrote:Treading on thin ice...

Re: TTDPatch 2008 Wishlist
Wish List
From cargo (new)
in ttd, I really like the fishes
- and all the rest.
But to be true -
I still preserve some wishes:
I'd fill myself up full of shandy,
if trucks and trams at last got bendy.
To play one game with frozen lakes,
I'd loan on all my christmas cakes.
I pray: "Just why, Melissa Joan,
stands the NG-Set
this alone?"
Then Jonathan exceeded borders,
restricted routings, found new orders.
Still one order would be great:
"At this stop, engine, terminate!"
I dream of Betas, Gammas, Deltas
I see balloons and dunes and smelters,
I see a track there, with three rails:
And no gauge is here that fails.
Chair-lifts, ropeways, cable-ferries,
rack-and-pinion railways, dairies,
bigger airports, larger maps,
a new night-conversion. Chaps:
If I go on, then this my vision,
will lead me into forums prison.
So therefor with some stolen trees,
I'll satisfy (till next release...)
Have warm responses and some port,
from this point we will keep it short:
Just thanks for lending me an ear,
and for the game - tall, phat and dear.
Have all a smashing brand-new year!
Carlo

I know ... it's a poem and not a play, but perhaps this time we can allow for "play on words" ... You can have that £6000 John Whiting Award.Carlo Ghega wrote:Wish List ...

My excuses for not sending cookies this year:eis_os wrote:Wait, I read cookies ...
- They would not fit into the aRV trailer
- Some bugs ate them
- The lady at the post office did not have a large map and could not find Germany
- Insufficient memory error
- I did not get my Whiting money in time
- I asked the store for eye candy cookies but they were out of stock
- I got hungry waiting in the line at the post office

Carlo Ghega: What a nice poem!
Since this is a wish list, what about some nice poems by our great poet Carlo Ghega, instead of TTD music?

Jesus.
Carl Ritter von Ghega was a railway engineer. Born in Italy, but with Albanian descent. Appears to be quite famous for one thing and another.

Re: TTDPatch 2008 Wishlist
My wish is that my TTDPatch todo would manage to grow in the other direction for once. Smaller.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Re: TTDPatch 2008 Wishlist
Especially because of planning and building the Semmering-Bahn, the first mountain railway in Europe built with standard gauge track. Now another UNESCO World Heritage, BTW.Dave Worley wrote: Carl Ritter von Ghega was a railway engineer. Born in Italy, but with Albanian descent. Appears to be quite famous for one thing and another.
regardshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Ritter_von_Ghega wrote: [...] he studied also the railways in England and other European countries. In 1842, entrusted with the entire planning of the future state railway, he made a study trip to North America.
After his return to the state railway he began with the planning of the railway line to the south, from Mürzzuschlag to Graz and Trieste. The crossing of the Semmering was not believed possible, but as early as 1844 he submitted a plan for the crossing of the Semmering, with locomotives without an extra rail for gear wheels. Before the building was fully decided, he began to enforce the construction of locomotives which could overcome such upward gradients. Construction of the Semmeringbahn was begun in 1848, and in 1851, before its completion in 1854, he became a knight (Ritter).

Re: TTDPatch 2008 Wishlist
Well i mainly play OTTD
But still occasionally play TTDPatch because of some better gameplay.
Something good for TTDPatch would be a better multiplayer. After that a couple more additions and TTDPatch might beat OTTD

Lakie has largely fixed these and though not 100% perfect, aRV's are now very playable and refitable with the Patch. .Snail wrote:- Articulated vehicles
