Luxtram Old Town

Post by luxtram »

This is a proof of concept I am evaluating. One part is thigh layout of medieval buildings like you can find for example Lübeck. Another part is more classical and baroque style buildings.

The art looks promising, though it would look somewhat out of place in the OpenTTD setting. The earliest year at which the game is still playable is about 1700, and historically this architectural style was already becoming outdated by that period. However, it could make for beautiful "old town" centers in custom scenarios and screenshots.

By the way, I think there's a minor fault in the cathedral model: the flying buttresses are too narrow. Judging by the examples found in Wikipedia, the sloped part should be roughly equal in length to the vertical part.

A very nice concept!
A lot of old Dutch towns have these kind of buildings in their centers.

I would like to suggest to not make the roofs too busy with details (like so many roofwindows).
