Scenario NewGRFs unchangeable in 1.1.0
Hi!
I know that NewGRFs are no longer changeable after a game is launched. However, I recently started fiddling with an old scenario and I cannot delete the old NewGRFs present in this one. This is a scenario, not a savegame. I can't remove old versions of NewGRFs, nor can I add or remove any others.
Is there a way to remove or add NewGRFs to a scenario before actually starting a game? At this stage, the NewGRFs are not even used (I'm talking vehicles here, not new industries, or similar)

try looking at the threads about normal games, scn's are normal savegames effectively.

I naturally read those before posting this. I was simply under the assumption a scenario would work differently, especially since no vehicles have been built. Surely, adding some vehicle sets would not disturb a scenario not yet played?

Have you tried turning newgrf_developer on?

Correct. However, it's nearly impossible for OpenTTD to determine whether or not a NewGRF only adds vehicles or other safe changes. If you set "scenario_developer" to true in your config file you can change the newgrfs in the scenario editor again.Chrill wrote:Surely, adding some vehicle sets would not disturb a scenario not yet played?

Download a scenario with ECS Vectors industries [e.g. the USA map], and add NARS2 to it. Try to spot the error.

change as much as you like, just do not expect help and support when something fails, which will also result in no support / help for the scenario you publish for others to use.
