The fizzy drink factory is still the old one. There is a fix as well an improvement done at devzone.

That task is still assigned to you. So it is to be assumed you're still working on it

Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
I have done it, does it mean I can remove the tag in 657(CC Candy factory, which is assigned to you but I done it) and 839(Fizzy drink factory)?

Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
If you think you're done with something, you should remove the 'assigned to' and set it to no-one (usually: that I assigned you without prior consent the other ground tiles is border-line
). Otherwise the valid assumption is that you work on it
- that's the whole purpose of that setting

How about 657? It is assigned to you but I done it too.
Well, if it's done, then it should be fine to remove it.

You'll not that it still doesn't work ingame and I still need to test it. My tests on that so-far were unsatisfactorily2006TTD wrote:How about 657? It is assigned to you but I done it too.

Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
Well... the netiquette kinda says (my understanding)
- Assign a task to yourself if you work on it and are intend to bring it to an end.
- Don't change the status of tasks which are 'assigned to' other people. Comments, suggestions, ready-prepared patches are of course fine to add
- Assign task only to people if the context and / or previous communication asks for it
- the toyland rought tiles could be considered such case. But it's always save to not assign something
Any case, back to topic: I shall have another look at both, fizzy drink factory and the sweets factory. IIRC the problem was that CC didn't work despite of your changed sprites, but I shall investigate anew.

Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
After reading, I think I get how the way it works now.
Thank you, planetmaker!
Sorry for any previous offences.
P.S. please also check out the toyland rough tile variant too.

No worries, no offence taken. And yes, I'll checkout how they look like.2006TTD wrote:After reading, I think I get how the way it works now.

One comment already before I tried them ingame: the current rough tile is rather a light green while thes versions seem to be based on the default ground tile. Could you maybe at the same time produce a version of these sprites (they look very good and have IMHO the right shading!) based on the current light green (=rough) tile?

Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
The sprites are really based from the rough tile. For comparison and reference, I uploaded a new file which includes the original tile sprite.

Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
Hmm... I see that the small square on the right corner of the tile looked triangular. Does that matter?
Here's an amended version if needed.

I'd like to take on the trees please. I started out with a few drafts for your consideration. No younglings and just one dead tree for now.
Feel free to critic and/or reject of course.

Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
In what way might they help? Given that it doesn't allow derivates or selling in a commercial product, whereas OpenGFX's license requires that to be possible.oberhümer wrote:Stolen Trees might help...
Also pointing him to that artwork and implying that his trees should look like that can be seen a derivation of those trees. Just let him draw his own trees, so they can be included into OpenGFX without problems.
I like the trees, but now the transmitter looks so toyland-ish.
Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
With these trees, more than just the transmitter might look toyland-ish...
The trees look good, I fear they might look /too/ good to match the rest of OpenGFX! I recommend having these trees as newgrf first, so that all can see how they look combined with OpenGFX. In the unlucky event that they might not fit that good, the NewGRF is there and ready to be released and used by people who like the trees regardless of whether they fit with OpenGFX.
So by all means, please continue! I promise you that these trees will make it to the game, one way or another

Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
I think the transmitters should have an antenna or two and a few Drum shaped Cells (ever wondered why its called a "Cell phone?", its because of the cell towers that are every where and in openttd they somehow cluster A LOT in areas)
