Well, the forum you set up for the set doesn't seem to be too busy - but I'm quite sure such apparent lack of enthusiasm for the forum should be interpreted as a disinterest in this set... Any progress planned?

Death, the coder, has gotten a very busy Real Life, so I haven't heard of any updates. I'm sorry. On another note, Ameecher was going stat hunting, so he might have made some nice progress on searching the stats, though I haven't heard about that in a few days.

It's very good to hear that the set is still heading somewhere, at least. It's quality, not speed, that counts :-).

That'd be because I have been away from a computer for a week wading in rivers and climbing mountains, I'm on it but no real progress to report at the moment.

Very glad to hear. I wouldn't want you to miss that much fun for just stats researching. (Next time you leave IRC for a week though, please use a different quit message. You had something like "if I'm not welcome, I leave" or something. Combined with patchbot telling me you were last seen 4 days ago, it worried me for a moment, not knowing you just had a week of having fun :P)

Haha, sorry about that, it was just Owen being mean and me joking, it just so happened that I didn't sign in again before I left ;)

FYI, Death stopped coding the 2ccset due a busy Real Life. Wile E. Coyote will take over after he finishes some other projects.

You can provide Ameecher with them. I'm going on holidays, I'm doing nothing ATM.

EDIT: I already borrowed a few from the Swiss set website.

New poll coming up:

Trains and Climates

  • Option A1: All trains (116 vehIDs) are available in all climates.
  • Option A2: A huge amount of trains will be available in all climates, a selective few will be climate-dependant.
  • Option A3: Trains will be climate dependant. Each climate will have their own trains.
  • Option B1: All 116 vehIDs will be shared equally over the climates.
  • Option B2: Temperate will have more trains, arctic and tropical will have less, and toyland only a few.
  • Option B3: Make a seperate set for each climate (116 vehIDs for each climate).
  • Option C1: Depending on the country the train will be available for the most fitting climate(s) (e.g. Temperate has the UK, Arctic has Switzerland, Tropical has Spain).
  • Option C2: Depending on the continent the train will be available for the most fitting climate(s) (e.g. Temperate has Europe, Arctic has North America, Tropical has Africa).
Vote 1 option for A, 1 for B and 1 for C.

Old poll:
Should MUs be able to transport mail?
- No, passengers only (22%, 21 votes)
- Yes, but don't make this visual (use same sprites as for passengers (18%, 17 votes)
- Yes, but only make wagons (no MU-heads) look different (10%, 10 votes)
- Yes, make any wagon and MU head carrying mail look different (48%, 45 votes)

Looks very nice, i especially like that Sm2 thats about to enter the station after that freight train in scr9.png(I'm pretty sure its the Sm2..) :)
Though if its a Sm2, it seems to be missing the pantograph that is visible on the preview sprite in the train list on the site.
and at a closer look, it looks like the windows on the passenger carriages behind the steamer on left track have their Windows company colored in scr8.png?

Correct, due my crappy coding abilities I had to use the front unit for both sides (dual headed). The panto is on the rear unit, which isn't used (these are two front units, which also explains the white lights at the rear of the train).

That's a mail van, which has less windows. ;)

It's already explained. On the wiki. Where everything else related to newgrf is explained. Something about "PalettesAndCoordinates", maybe?
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Thanks for your positive comments all :))

REISCOOL, no new trains are needed. All trains are drawn by me, except the steamers Snail's drawing and the wagons Wile E. Coyote is drawing. Thanks for your offer though :))

Weirdy, you didn't want to play it before? :P

Level of detail is impressive on some trains :))
However, the red roof bites my eyes...
And by the way, what's the yellow funny looking fence (or overhead wires) on SCR19.png?

The yellow looking fence is the powered third rail for the metro system (based upon some European metro systems). The overhead wires are those released on the Dutch Trainset website (link in sig).
