Jim Powers' Scenarios & Games (TTDP)
Re: Rob's Saved Game
Ahh, but Jim, that's all TTDPatch. Notice the lack of the fast forward button in the top left corner .
It's impressive, I'll tell ya that much.

OTTD or TTDPatch
Mr. Aegir;
Since I've never installed OTTD, I wasn't aware of "Fast Forward" button. The reason
I thought that perhaps Mr. Rob's magnificent layout was OTTD, was because the
menu bar at the top and the gray info bar at the bottom of his 'screenie' did not run
completely across his map. If you look at his Menu bar and at the menu bar in my
'screenie', you'll more understand what I mean. See, his stops and a burgandy bar,
at the top and bottom, run the rest of the way across the picture, on the right hand
side of the pic. I'm inserting a "Giant" screenie of my game and there is no menu
nor info bars in this screenie. So..................how did Mr. Rob do that?
Always,
Jim Powers

To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Jim, I believe the screenshot of RobC is not a giant screenshot, but a normal screenshot of the game running in a higher resolution. For a year or so we have been able to run ttd+patch in a higher resolution than the standard 640x480.
For example, try setting "resolutionwidth" to 1024 and "resolutionheight" to 768 in your ttdpatchw.cfg, and see the result . This will only work for the windows version of the game though.
Edit: Wrote this while dalestan posted.

Mr. Powers,
Like the other members already said it's all TTDpatch, no OTTD in sight here.
I made this screenshot as a normal screenshot (Ctrl-s) at the view zoomed out max.
My resolution setting is 1280 x 1024, which also makes it impossible to do a giant screenshot. (disabled by eis_os since this didn't work correctly with higher resolutions)
But with the size of the normal screenshot it's not needed to make a Giant screenshot any more.
Greetings, Rob Claessen.

I new form of game
Dear TTD Family;
I'm about to launch a new form of save games. Will be ready probably this week.
Details will be forthcoming.
Always,
Jim Powers

Form?
Huh?
Do you mean in OTTD? Cause OTTD may be a bit more advanced, it has less features, less grf support and none of the really cool stuff that today's TTDpatch has.

None of that
Mr. RPharazon;
You will not be seeing me in any OTTD. I'm personally not interested. No, what I intended,
was a way, at least that I'd never seen before, that I would share a save game. Let me
complete the changeover and I'm sure you'll understand what I mean. Maybe 'form' was
the wrong word.

The Dock I use
Mr. Sanchimaru;
About the dock, I've had that dock for a long time. I'm sorry I can't remember the author of it.
I've always liked it, (though it might not fit into your new Container Freight Station & Harbour set.)
As for "the man in the yellow coat, fishing", well, I've always believed it was a small crane
with some cargo already loaded. I almost drowned near a dock, very similar to this, at Folly Beach,
near Charlestown, South Carolina, many years ago. Brings back memories.
Yes, many thanks to 'The Quiet Man', Mr. Oracle, who does so much for TTD,
much which needs more recognition, a lot more. A fine man!
Thanks, Mr. ISA, we all could do better on our English, but...........what the heck.
A bit of advice, you might take those signs off the 'screenie' and then we can see more
of your Freight station layout. We appreciate your contribution, sir.
Always,
Jim Powers

Amazing Alberta
Dear TTD Members;
One of my pals, Mr. RPharazon, sent me one of his fine maps and asked me to
'tweak' it, which I did. So now Mr. RPharazon and I would like to present to you
our latest scenario called "Amazing Alberta" !
"Amazing Alberta" has many features which will give you many hours of entertainment
whether you like trains, vehicles, planes, or ships. This cool scenario is in the Artic mode.
It has many trees (forests) and farms and other industries which makes for a commercial success.
The cities are average size and should provide you with plenty of passengers and mail to
transport also.
Mr. RPharazon has done a beautiful job of making "Amazing Alberta" as accurate as possible,
sooooooooo, bring on those new Canadian Trains and let's have some REAL fun, eh?
Always,
Jim Powers

Jim, Looks cool. Good work as always.
I must say, that your screenie with the container harbour is truly amazing. It fits right in there.
About the dock grapchics. Those are available as .exe from ttd-graphics (or however its called). I believe I made a conversion to .grf some while ago. I must check at home. Let you know tommorrow...

Re: Amazing Alberta
Yes, Alberta truely is amazing. Since I've lived in Alberta my entire life, I must play this scenario. Cheers to you and your scenarios Jim! I can't wait to hear from you again.Jim Powers wrote:Dear TTD Members;

Depots & Dock
Mr. The Irish;
Say man, thanks for supplying us with the dock Grf. I personally like it.
Also, thanks Guys, for the encouragement on Mr. RPharazon's fine scenario, "Amazing Alberta",
which he did probably 90%. I only 'tweaked' it. It look to be very popular, so far.
Good luck, Mr. RPharazon, at coming up with some more scenarios.
BTY, who made those 'cool' new RR depots? Great stuff!
Always,
Jim Powers
