define tall?

I have gotten semi-tall to build just fine. unfortunatly the game craps out at about 30 (29 was the max i got to build) stories.I think you are trying to build 90 story buildings so it might not handle it.

I am going to try a few tricks for some uber "tall" buildings soon (sears tower, world trade buildings, john handcock. ETC.). Unfortunatly, I don't have faith that they will work. I am hoping a 30 story version of a 90+ story building might look ok in lomo if the test craps out.

ignore all of the buildings in this picture but the red one as a "tall example". this is a building scale test i was conducting.

The 7-11 is nice.
I hope only this your buildings it builds up floor for floor. But this looks funnily if suddenly such a big building there stands.
Only because of that our work on new buildings lasts a little longer. But during the next weeks there come several new parcels.

btw
At least one is from SimCity

The shorter ones do just appear, the taller ones "build floor by floor" I am having code issues in beta at the moment. I am trying to figgure out exacly how it reads the code to build. I can get tthme to build in game similar to how my auto dealers build, but they seem to build to many of the same building over and over.

I am trying to figgure out how to throttle the build back a little so it wont make so many of the same buildings. it looks like it is a combination of town population and the density of people the building produces.

EDIt: yes i is real building in the sense it is in the game, also yes it is a real building in the world. mine needs work still. it was more a proof of concept then a finnished product. I had no photos when i made it.

im building them in the once off cant deleat section like the castle or transmitter tower. looking at that image of your tower although the building is A LOT bigger it may be too big if made to scale. also how did you convert those buildings im having trouble finding something to get images with other than screen capture or is thet what you use.

I'm making houses not from floors, but from solid picture. If this picture is taller then 128 pixels, I cut it for the some parts-"floors" :)
I have stealed more than 400 buildings from SimCity, but I don't know how works xml-file of building (that part, where are declared, when and where the house is building), so I can't place them into a game :(
Maybe, somebody knows about this xmls?

NB. Plastikman, how you did the 4x4 building??? It's impossible!
Or it's four parts 2x2? ;)

Sounds not quite legal to me.

@PZM
1.) You should have the consent of the author. As long as you them do not have it comes to trouble.

2.) The building is too high. The uppermost floors are not indicated in Locomotion.

Anyone has tried Sketchup for making buildings? http://www.sketchup.com/?dlc=1
This programm seems to be very easy to use.
You can export various formats.
What is needed are informations about the scale of sprites in locomotion (input coordinates), the camera iso view and how to apply the loco colour palette and light effects. ?(

yup, I have Sketchup Pro, I have tried a building. i have also tried it to make a rail car . it is a neat litle program and and was decent, it might be nice for smaller buildings. As far as lager multi level buildings and skycrapers, i like the tools i use now better for lomo. it has the ability to dissasemble house floor by floor for export.

Those Sim City 4 buildings look awsome in locomotion.
Those tall skyscrapers are really cool to watch.

Would be cool to use them ingame.
Great work ! :D

If I take a look at your screenshot: the light settings for the new buildings seem to be wrong.
What is strange in locomotion: the sun changes its position if you change the perspective by clicking "enter"

how do you get the angles right for sketchup? ive tried and cant seem to work it out. Is there a way just to aim by entering the angles you want to look at the object?
