[IDEA] "Legoblock" type stations.

Ok, here we go;

Probaly all people know that we only have 4 types of station building available in Locomotion; now i want to suggest something. First some little facts;

- Locomotion allows us to use maximum 16 Railwaystations.
- You can edits the tracks .dat files to be compatible with some of them.

Little brainstorm;
- Maybe even possible to use some of them as Tramstations?

Now here is my idea; Why dont we use those 16 free spaces to put in some variations of stationbuilding wich; IF you use them right; can be build to be one massive station with his unique looks?

Well, see the attachment for some of my suggestions.

- A half round wich starts on the left and on to goes straigt (Offcourse on the other end some pilars to support it. (And his right counterpart)
- Flat roof (Or variations) with pilars on both sides (e.g. the Bus Termanal without the side glass walls.
- A sloping sidewall to straight roof.
- Roofles station (As for example an extension of the station)
- A Roofless station with a stairs to the top (Wich goes over the track)
- Idem as above but then with stairs/elevators to the underground. (To mimic a travelerstunnel underneath the station.)
- Any other variations wich would be fun to look at.

Offcourse above can made to contain ticketmachines/Benches etc etc. Mayeb a roofless station with stationclock or a traindestination thingy.

Well here is the attachment so people can understand it. I have talked to Strongbow about this idea. But i think this would be usefull to other people too :)

Ok enough chitchat; here is a drawing of some stationparts and a station layout wich can be build with these parts.

Yes this is a very good idea. Actually, I'm building two stations now - the Berlin subway one and a mountain station that will be comprised of two pieces (station building + platform).

Anyway I think the stations and industries in Loco deserve more attention. Unfortunately there's not really many 3D people around here who would do it - a 16-piece station is quite the undertaking. This is possibly due to the fact that TT is a game where graphics were drawn pixel by pixel and people are connecting Loco to it as well. Most train fans are doing models for MSTS nowadays. :(

Also, if you look in the scenario thread, I was thinking about a beach hotel industry - similar to the ski lodge. Basically a building with a pool and umbrellas growing around it - similar to the poles growing around the ski lodge.

Unfortunately my todo list right now is quite full till the end of the year, but one can dream. :)

same for me.. i dream of a MacSQ with drive-in and a little playground for kids. of course without cars.
i did all models/renderings/textures myself. no conversions.

seelenquell.pytalhost.com has been reactivated from 16/07/28 till 18/05/31.. now it´s deactivated. at least there..

This sounds really cool. It'd be great, since the mega stations on the LoMo Fanpage don't work.

Something like this would be nice, it has the benefit to be a symetrical station.

If you want someone to mod you a station ask these guys. 8)

If I understand this correctly, the individual pieces could be put together in any way to come up with a station customized to the individual's preference, sort of like the Bahnhofs Bausatz teil sets but with more and better graphics? This sounds like a great idea.

Ow, IA, I have to warn you. Due to Chris you can only put 7 stationslots in trackst.dat or trackng.dat. That means you can only have 7 different driveable stations for good trains. You can put stationbuildings in the trackng.dat, that won't be a problem...

BTW, how to make some parts appear only after a number of stationblocks were built, or only when there are several ways?

* bump * Anyone got an idea how to do this. (3D design noob here, and i dont thinks that Sketchup will work (i do know how that works though).

I'd be interested in helping when I'm done with Fyra. I can model but not great at texture color. I got a good scene setup in max to do this.

Great idea. The Dutch station set for OpenTTD was also like this.
