OpenTTD 1.2.2-RC1
It has been a while since the last release. We tried to get OpenTTD accepted as Olympic sport, but did not succeed so far.
Finally, we made a release candidate instead.
You can get OpenTTD 1.2.2-RC1 at the usual location for release candidates. This release contains a lot of bug fixes, which you should not miss out.
Please help testing OpenTTD, especially on different versions of Windows, and report the problems you encounter to
our bug tracker.
Thanks, and have fun!

Re: OpenTTD 1.2.2-RC1
I think you can try for the World Cup of Computer Games, it seems more likely to happen. Good release!
My Scenarios:
Archipiélago Hermoso (Latest Release: Version 3.2)
Turnpike Falls (Latest Release: Version 0.91)
Re: OpenTTD 1.2.2-RC1
Maybe there's room for OpenTTD on WWOTTDGD/3
Anyway, thanks to everybody involved!

Openttdcoop would sure find a way to make OpenTTD a competitive e-sport like Quake or Counter Strike.

Re: OpenTTD 1.2.2-RC1
People that like to play co-operatively find a way to play competitively???
Sounds very unlikely

Re: OpenTTD 1.2.2-RC1
Back when I had a working patch for head-to-head play (=competitive play) some people from #OpenTTDCoop were very eager to test/play it. I think finding a good way to play competitive is way harder than finding players for it. Problems:Alberth wrote:People that like to play co-operatively find a way to play competitively???

- Games are usually quite long
- Players have to start/stop at exactly the same time
Especially the second one is hard to fix without making it very unbalanced.
Re: OpenTTD 1.2.2-RC1
You'd have to arrange the games vigorously to play fairly, competitively.
Re: OpenTTD 1.2.2-RC1
Well, some concepts I can imagine:
- Define gaming times
- Make quick games
- Let both players play independently for n years, with the same initial map
