Acchattan Transport (fanfares!)

It's a second game in this thread, as I abandoned the first one due to error in the save file...
The First Post of the new company is HERE.

:!: :!: NEW :!: :!: LATEST TRANSIT MAP - August 25
Latest save - August 25
Latest map screenshot - August 25

That's the game I've started couple days ago. The idea is to connect most cities with passenger services first, and after that is done add cargo network to it. The game is based on Spring 2013 Patch Pack v. 2.2.192 (newest at the time of writing this post). I love all the fancy additions for the game, e.g. departure boards, hours instead of days, signals on bridges/tunnels, adjustable amount of passengers and mail generated by citites. :D

The list of NewGRFs I'm using is attached to the second post.

The game started in 1970. I will be playing without cheats, so the company has to be bringing profits. Also the costs of some actions have been changed to be a little more realistic (e.g. bridges, tunnels, depots). No inflation though nor infrastructure costs (I think they make the game imbalanced, especially with different types of tracks - NuTracks).

To achieve my target I'll be creating lines (named train groups) with (neatly) planned timetables, that will connect cities, ultimately creating a nicely functioning network. The name of each line is marked on the map with the sign. I decided to use the following names with their maximum speeds for the different purposes:
M/S - Metro, local train <120km/h, <3 tiles length, high capacity,
R - Regio train <160km/h, <3 tiles length, medium capacity, stopping on every station,
RX - Regio Express <160km/h, <4 tiles length, medium capacity, stopping on bigger stations, might be using same route as R line - stations will require a through track,
IC - InterCity <230km/h, <5 tiles length, low capacity, directly connecting medium and big cities - will require network separate from R/RX trains,
EX - Express <360km/h, <6 tiles length, low capacity, directly connecting big and more distant cities ,
M - Maglev <600km/h, <7 tiles length, low capacity, for long, high demand routes.

These are my guidelines, however I'm not going to stick to them in 100% (especially in length of the trains) if the situation will require different solution.

In the attachments you can find the latest save that I will try to keep up to date.

Finally, I want to create a map that will have the best solutions so all the new ideas, tips, questions and comments are more than welcome! :)

The company is 20 years old, having 19 trains and over 5000 rail pieces :)

And here's a little of history (and newGRF list).

Nice organic growth of the system, my only request is that if you've attached the pictures like you have, please don't link to them as well, it's a bit annoying when you're on a very slow internet connection like I am to wait for them to load in line.

Thank you guys! And thanks Ameecher for the tip :)

Today I have extended R2 to meet with new R5 line. Also I've started a small ferry services as an extension of lines R1 and R5 to better connect it to R4.

Here is an overview of the lines on the map as well as the plans for the further development.

Looks like Cunnham will become a busy station!

It's time for Acchattan Transport! (I know... How do you even pronounce it? ^^)

The NewGRFs list is the same as in previous game except the German Signal that I'm actually not a big fan of... But I started that way so let it be :)

The exciting new adventure has started! 3 lines are joined in a lovely little town of Acchattan... The station is now a little outside, however there are plans to move it towards city center. It's going to be challenging to make it work, with more lines to come that will start or end on that station. Also the servicing depot will have to be moved and expanded to be part of the waiting station.
And here is the region around Acchattan.
The map of the game as well as the latest save are in the first post of this thread!

This is a lovely town of Drondean with a lovely bridge and unique station placed on the banks of the river!
In Treford the construction has started to connect the city with Brundale witn R4.

Interesting shots! I like the river station.

Just one comment, your post title implies you're playing TTDPatch, which is a completely separate program from what you're playing, which is OpenTTD but with patches. Slightly confusing, I know

Here is something I'm especially proud of! I decided to make a map of the network I'm building. It will grow together with the game and later I'll show on it plans for upgrades :)

Game screenshot and the transit map.

As always, latest save and some other up to date informations about this game are on the FIRST POST of this thread. Enjoy! :)
