WOW that map is crazy. it looks like a lot of fun. I had to get some trains "unstuck" at southport and warrington 4 right off the bat.

the only thing i dont get.. all the trains are driving on the wrong side of the tracks....

nice map it looks like this took you forever....

Wich side is the wrong side? :P

In The Netherlands they drive on the right in Belgium on the left :P

In the US, trains drive on the Right, usually. Chicago and NorthWestern Is on The left. It will cost to much to switch it at this point.

snipped from Yahoo Messanger While playing this map.
Plastikman: wow that is a crazy map, try sarahs map
Busman: were is it
Plastikman: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=599837#599837
Plastikman: it is@@#$@ crazy.. and that is with no mods. I have never played a non american scenario. but i can see why the BR set is huge.
Plastikman: lol one of the euro trains sounds like a truck shifting gears while it drives
Plastikman: lol nooooo i am having fun playing this br map..
Plastikman: butthe trains are on the wrong side keeps screwing me up
Busman: you have been seduced by the uk side
Plastikman: LMAO... omg i just spit out my coke

well, Iam going to go play this some more, later guys....

Its not even using the BR Set, they're the default UK trains!!

It has to be one of the more realistic savegames I've seen. The use of the default locos etc is very good. I like the attention to detail with the Merseyrail tunnel and LOR being in the scenario. I assume that it is based on a 'maximum extent' map of the Mersey area Sarah?

NEW SAVE GAME 2.1 attatched below!

To Begin...

OOOPS :!:

I meant to put this as a new reply to the save game topic, but in the rush to do so I must have mis-clicked!

(So, Andel and co., feel free to "shunt" it to the correct "siding"! )

The Basic Map is available on the Scenarios Section. (So, if you want to run trains a la USA, Plastikman, you can give it a shot! : :P )

(Just found out! The "Blockage" at Southport is caused by the EMU trying to get into the same platform as a departing 4mt (Steam) hauled train. It is doing this because the PWay gang forgot to electrify the other platform (to the EMU drivers Left!) Needs a third rail adding!)

(The Blockage at Warrington 4 (Under Halton!) is due to train "Hooton Runcorn 1" being in the wrong place (and too long for the siding!). It needs waypoint 14 deleting, and a new waypoint 14 on the other line, as for "Hooton Runcorn 2"! )

That (in bold above) is the DMU, or Diesel Multiple Unit. It actually has got a gearbox, as it uses mechanical transmission. They have a centrifugal clutch, so to drive, you take the brake off, select first gear and open the throttle. When the RPM gets to the right place, you shut the throttle, select 2nd Gear, and open the thottle again, and so on (4 Gears I think.)

Yes, I have put in quite a few "lines" that are, alas, no more. The GCR route to Southport via Childwall is in part now a cycleway...

Note that Wigan has ben shifted quite a bit West to get it in!

Also, The Mersey Railway was not a loop as it is now, but went through James Street MR to terminate at Central, Underneath the GCR Liverpool Central Station.

The Loop is easier to build. BR Built the Loop, and also closed Liverpool Exchange, and the GCR Central station, and connected the GCR line to the LYR line by a tunnel, which uses the original MR Central Station. The Loop Central Station is even lower down! (I have done this in a later save game.)

There is a BR Set Version of this map in the Scenario section.

This version, using NO MODS, is for all those people fed up with error messages, the downside is that the stock degrades (Breaks Down), and goes obsolete.

I started this game building the Liverpool Overhead Railway, but that is NOT the best way, as the LOR costs A LOT of cash to build.

I would reccomend starting with the coal trains to Fiddlers Ferry Power Station, Then the Liverpool to Manchester line, etc.

I WILL be posting another couple of save games, both will be part of this same game!

I would think that LocoMod would allow this save game to be changed by changing the stock for No Break down stock?

Railway Company Names.

LOR Liverpool Overhead Railway
GCR Great Central Railway (After 1923 "Grouping" LNER)
LYR Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway (After 1923 "Grouping" LMS)
LNW London and North Western Railway (After 1923 "Grouping" LMS)
GWR Great Western Railway
MR Mersey Railway
WR Wirral Railway (After 1923 "Grouping" LMS)
LMS London Midland and Scottish Railway
LNER London and North Eastern Railway

(All, except LOR, became part of British Railways (BR) on nationalisation in 1948)

Can't be bothered - its too good for the siding!

Do you have the Mods version?

Hi Andel...Link to Map/Scenario in First Post now...includes all V2.X Map Versions, inc. BR Set Version!

New Save Game V2.1 is now available....(above! )

Save Game 3 carries on the game.

Save Game 4 starts the contraction (closure/demolition) of the railways.

Closed lines include the Liverpool Overhead Railway, the GCR route from Southport Lord Street to Hunts Cross, The LNW/GWR Joint line from Hooton to West Kirby.

The 4 track LNW/GWR joint line from Ledsham Junction to Rock ferry has been reduced to 2 lines, and Birkenhead Woodside station has been closed and demolished.

Merseyrail Wirral Line (3rd Rail electric) extended to Hooton. DMU service from Chester (Off Map) to Helsby Junction Via Hooton.

Save Game 5.11 is more or less the network as it exists today.

Merseyrail Wirral Line (3rd Rail electric) extended to Chester (Off Map) and Ellesmere Port. DMU service from Ellesmere Port via Helsby Junction to Warrington (and in real life, Earlestown, and Liverpool Lime Street main line.(Not very frequent))

Mersey Ferries now more of a pleasure boat cruise than a method of transport.
