Trams in OpenTTD

Hey guys

Downloaded the trams and tracks grf's and added them to OpenTTD, but can't seem to get them working. I've added them to the data directory and openttd.cfg. I'm new to this whole grf thingy, are they incompatible with OpenTTD? If I add the ttdpatch will it make a difference or screw up OpenTTD?

Also I've download eveything off the UKRS site and can't get any of the new industries or town buildings.

Help is much appreciated :o)

Trams are not programmed/merged into trunk yet so you can't use them. If you do want to use them use Valance's tram patch or code the functionality yourself.

Thanks

How do I get such patch? I assume installation info is in a readme with it?

(Like I said, I'm very much the newby!)

Cheers :)

Look at the stickies in the development section, the patch is also in that section.

Okay, first let me apologise - I've searched high and low through the forums and the language that's foreign too me and I'm still at a loose end!

I've downloaded the tramroads grf by Valance (got it from one of his threads cos I couldn't see anything in the stickies) and followed his directions and nothing. I tried adding it to openttd.cfg and nothing. I've looked through thread after thread and still can't find anything to help me (at least not in layman's terms like I need it).

Also, can I install the TTDpatch into OpenTTD without blowing up my mac? And if so how do I do it?

Cheers :?

First, TTDP and OTTD are completely different and won't work together, so it is of no use to install TTDP over OTTD.

Secondly, Valance provides you with a patch, there is a sticky on how to apply patches to the game source in the Development section.

And thirdly, I made a thread regarding this very patch. Right here. It only works for Windows though.
