Johnny's Guide to Installing Trams on OTTD (Windows)

Post by Johnny B Goode »

Okay, people. We all love trams, so I, being a good guy, will tell you how to install them on Windows.
  1. Go to this thread.
  2. Download the 7z file on page 4. Decompress it (it's a zip format) using whatever software necessary.
  3. You will find a copy of your OTTD directory in the folder you extract to. Copy the data files and savegames you have to the new folder's data folder.
  4. Go to GRF Crawler and find the German and Serbian tram sets
  5. Run the OTTD executable you find in this folder. OTTD should run as normal.
  6. Add the tram GRFs in the NewGRFs menu.
  7. Open a new game. Click the road button, and you should see a menu with the choice of roads, or "tramroads". Choose tramroads.
  8. Build your first tram, like you'd build a road connection.
  9. Have fun!

It's only for windows users, so Macintosh and Linux users don't have any use for this download anyway. I think it's better to wait until tramroads is in trunk.

Wait, isn't the developer a Unix-like user? I'm pretty sure he's got code for Lins and Macs. Oh, wait, he used Wine. If he doesn't, I just think if you can get it, there's no sense waiting.
