UPDATE!!! 2-10
MOD VERSION NOW INCLUDES PLASTIKMAN'S NEW LUMBER PACK!
AND I ALSO UPDATED THE AMTRAK TRAINS AVAILABLE
This is my first attempt at scenario building for Locomotion anyway. I think it turned out pretty well. You will find things california is known for such as timber, ski centers, and wineries. There is no Steel Mills in this scenario so all goods must be made with chemicals, oil or lumber. There is coal but its only for Power Plants.
Start year 1972 - I rated it challenging
Deliver 200,000 crates of goods within 25 year
1 company will start after 12 months
There is a no mods version and a mod version
You Need these Mods for the mod version

theres a screenshot function built into Loco, mine is CTRL+S, look in the options screen, that gives you better looking screenshots

pls do
NOT rename it - convert it! open the pic with paint and save as JPEG.
renaming just renames the filename, the filetype and -size is still the same.

actually I used PSP to convert all those lame looking screenies into jpg form

I used WrapperTool to modify all my vehicles for no breakdowns. If I make a scenario, do I need to install the original vehicles, and not my modified ones? Is this the issue. If so I'll get right on that when I get back from playing golf today.

I'm glad you like it. This is also my stomping grounds as well. I live in Red Bluff and was born and raised in Sacramento.

Well... it works and umm it has a minor problem.
i saw you turned off most of the NEC, thats good, eletrics have no buissness in cali!!! but the Metroliner, E60 and E44 slipped in, no bigggie. i was then a little shocked to see the baggage cars disabled

no mail untill 1986.. eep no biggie. the real problem struck when it hit 1998!!! the P42DC Genesis is disabled so there are NO more amtrak diesels to pull any of my trains. oops. slams head on desk.. ok ill get the surfliners and cal amtrak in 2 years ill stick some centuries on my train! two years later.... the calamtrak coach was disabled but not the engine (it cant couple to standard amtrak fleet) and the california surfliners were disabled also

, if all this was planed ok. if it was an accident. then i am reporting a bug....
other then that, i have been having a blast i have huge fleet of ship bringing in oil to the closest shore and transfering the oil to trains. it is SOOO much more efficiant then having those slow boats going through Frisco Bay. i am about ready to runa bridge to the oil rig (jk). i did get a laugh out of it snowing in reno and carson city.

NOW UPDATED
Plastikman's Lumber Pack is now needed and wow..it makes this wood based scenario really shine now. Thx again! I also took care of this problem..ty Plastikman for pointing it out.

Electrics removed..might have left the Metroliner, and everything else from the Am-pack has now been added so it plays better.
Enjoy!

Glad to hear you're having fun with it. I tried to simulate the constant flow of oil from Alaska and it sounds like its working out how I imagined it. I've only begun to play it out..I've got a chemical line from the Merced plant to the Vallejo factory then I got a couple PAX lines...Oakland to Stockton and a Reno line running to a ski resort. I'm going to really have fun with it tonight when I start over with all the new lumber cars!

there is a ski resort? I mised that! glad you fixed it up. i'll redownload it agian. i sort of boogerd up my game i was playing anyways. i was using it to beta test my newest engines.. lol did you want to test a few diesels out on it?
btw i turnd off the PC player. he was making a huge mess of the place.
<edit> new version works fine.

there is a ski resort?
Yes there are 4 of them..two near Tahoe..supposed to be Heavenly and Squaw Valley..then south of Tahoe (Kirkwood)..then one up north near Dunsmuir..the Mt. Shasta Ske Resort.

Very nice work. I had some trouble bringing in oil to SF bay - glad to hear about transferring oil to trains. Should work much better.
Perhaps there should be more varied agriculture in the central valley?

I agree 100%. Its a shame only 3 agriculture products exist in the game. Since wheat is not really grown in the Central Valley, I chose to leave it out. Eventually maybe I will understand how to mod industries. I wanted to turn the wheat farm into a rice farm...that would have been perfect!
I'm glad you're enjoying the scenario!

LoL i am having a lot of fun on this map. but i keep getting the same result. i can make enough goods (bearly) i cant get a city to take them soon enough then, time expires trying to get my stockpile of rotting goods to the city. anyways.. i'll start over wit ha new stratagy later.
lol you know this is holding up the US set

i had the same problem with ships in the bay. i had to put a few waypoints to get around those turns. but it worked. in the end i had about 25 ships and they were not enough or fast enough..... so i sold most of them and built a train. LOTS of trains. i needed about 10 trains to keep up with the 12 ships running the transfer.
ill post a little pic of the transfer station along with a few items from my next release.

This is indeed a tough challenge...I'm not sure I like time restrictions

I have 10 months left and have moved 145,000 crates of goods. Money hasn't been a problem. My problem is toodling around with stuff that doesnt pertain to goods. I just like making tracks I guess LOL. Anyhow 8 years left comes by and I start to focus on goods, but by now its too late. All in all I'm quite impressed with how the map plays.

After playing The "Calhadras Coal" scenario all weekend, I decided to dig this map back up and have another go at it.
I changed my stratagy only a little bit but it is winable. : used the north american set and the amtrak pack. i played untill i fell asleep around 1986. when i woke up i it was 2006 and had won. i will reload my last save and see if i can do better.

I knew it could be done...awesome!!!
I'll have a go at it again after I finish my SoCal scenario..having a lot of fun with that one right now!
Also been testing out my Western Oregon scenario. I think your woodchippers are going to work out just fine..ty again for that.
