Landscape bug?

Hi,
i'm running build R3244 and tried R3251 as well, but i can't play other landscapes then the default.
If i load them, they are correctly displayed, only i can't build anything.
On everything i try to build it gives the error: Can't build <object> here, for example: Can't build station here, Can't build track here, etc etc
This is for all the landscapes except default: snow, candy, desert.
I have all the data files, and it displays fine but i just can't place anything on it:(:(

Umm i just use the Transport tycoon deluxe and then you can choose between 4 different types of landscapes, and they even have different industries then the normal.

Try starting with a clean config file.
In a command prompt (from windows start->run->"cmd" <enter>") browse to your openttd directory and type:
And see if you still get the problems. If you don't then it's just a matter of comparing the clean config with your current (openttd.cfg) one and pinpoint the difference. Very interested to hear about it.

k, with a clean config it works fine. But there are 1000 settings in the cfg:S

diff is your friend.
If you're on Windows and haven't installed cygwin, try fc instead.

dude set the starting date higher becouse if i try to play a new game and there are no rail vehicles it forbids me to build anything but if i change the date with cheats i can build.

Yeah, having just been messing around with the config file, I've found that this problem occurs if the starting date is set to 1926 or earlier.

Just post all the differences here with a little work on your side. Something like:
Code: Select all
NAME OLD (non-working) NEW(working)
patchbla 349857 3454
Or attach the non-working config file

I know I'm parroting here, but try setting the starting date to 1975.
Any difference?
