I just made a post to my blog regarding P:GS. Since their hasn't been an update in a while, I think its worth mirroring here:
Just a little somthing I’ve been working on for P:GS:

Image
So, yeah, I’ve thrown this together today, it’s not much but its a start on the next lot of stations making their way into P:GS.

I am a bit worried though about the amount of classes being used, we can only have an maximum of eight at any time, and with Michael steadilly chewing up classes with each release, Oracles station set (Which keeps growing slowly, but steadilly), and me eating up station classes left right and center, their will be a problem. Already I’ve had to dodge, duck and dive to make sure I dont tread on any of the other station coders toes when I make my releases, what I’m worried the most though is what conflicts their will be when MB releases his new set.

To be perfectly honest though, when I play TTD, quite often I only use Michael Bluncks stuff. No offence to any other artists or anything, but when I play a game of DBSetXL, I want everything else to match aswell, so no USStations, and few, if at all any, of the Generic stations. So my motivation for coding right now, is to try and turn P:GS into such a quality set, that I’ll use it in my games, allongside the great work of Michael.

Yes, I’m picky, very very picky. But I hope you’ll understand.
I may end up mirroring such relevent blog entries in the future, if you have any objections ( :o ), please notify me. I'd rather save on typing more than I have to, but some people may object for obscure reasons.

(Edited because the first sentance was b0rked.)

I did not know you had a blog. Sounds like I should shut down the website, and we should use your blog exclusively, it will be more orderly and more frequently updated.

Only eight classes?!?! Has anyone enquired about expanding it to more?

/me shrugs

Dunno, I suppose we could always bug the hell out of patchman so that he implements 256 max for both station classes, and stations per class, hell, 32 would suffice. Scrolling drop-down lists would be ideal though.

And my site has always existed in some form, but Im shifting over to the blog now because its a hell of a lot easier to manage and maintain. About shifting the P:GS site there, hmm, not sure. Ill draft up a basic plan of how id like it to look, and move on from there.

I suppose it would have a definate plus, I could give people admin accounts to it so they can add pages, edit pages, etc... I'll think about it.

Do you mean the PGS site?

I can't update the PGS site unless I get input from Aegir. He seems to be very very busy and not able to give me input, and we'd probably rather he spent his limited time on coding anyway. So if the blog works better for him, then that's what we should do. If Aegir wants me to update the existing PGS site, I'd be glad to, just send info for it. I will say that the PGS set seems to change WAY more between various versions, than any other set I've worked with.

Okay, I've decided I like the idea of shifting the site to my site/blog. I already have a plan (In my head, Ill probably jot it down somwhere and work through the holes), so I'll start implementing it shortly.

Just say when, and I'll take down the current site, and change the link to point to yours.

Will do, it may take a bit though.

What kind of information do you think is neccesary?

Well, you know what I had hoped to have on my site - a list of the stations in the set and their uses, photos of them, and the sprites of stations that weren't yet in the set but will be.

I've started creating the basic skeleton for how the P:GS portion of my site is going to look. Due to the nature of Wordpress, people will be able to comment on pages. Feel free to do so :).

http://www.aegir.bur.st/wordpress/?page_id=11

And hold off on deleting the site Krtaylor, I want this completly up and running before irreversible changes are made.

Comment moderation is enabled though. That means, that the first comment you make on my site is moderated, and I automaticly receive an email when you make that first comment. From their I can approve or dissaprove the comment. After your first comment has been approved, all future comments from you will be sent automaticly. This is to prevent against spam, or anonymous cowards who come specifically to flame.

EDIT: Hmm, commenting isnt working. Nevermind. Also, I have just finished writingthe content for the index page.

Hi!

Just installed this set and I cannot see the rural stations anywhere. I´m using it alongside new stations in TTDPatch Alpha/DBSetXL
here´s a picture of the menu. Can anybody help??

Thats because the rural stations arent in there! I took them out!

They'll go back in somtime, but they need more work done to them.

Hahah, yes, well, technically you are playing a preview build, it isn't in any way complete, as Iam doing a total re-code from the last version.

Oh, and progress wise, little to no progress really. I might just let the set stall for a bit before getting back to work, I have school starting up again next week, and I'll have to adjust and detirmine how much time I have for myself.

If you're studying anything about programming just tell the prof you've got this realy neat project you'd like to submit.
