Also, the roof doesn't really look as rounded as it should be. (Eg. the shape of the roog depends on where you're looking at it.)
How do I put this, I believe the roof isn't meant to be rounded at all. I believe it looks like /\ (so go figure!!!).

now this is the reason for the toyish appearance.

ITS NOT SHADED.

the hills of TTD are clearly shaded from the right hand side i believe. (i don't think i am wrong but whichever side it is it comes from a side)

so if you logically work this out, the colour of the wood on the south-west side of the building should be darker.

also you know that their are two seperate graphics for an object, one is one direction north-east/ south-west traveling. and there is the other direction north-west/ south-east traveling.

you have currently flipped the graphics from left to right, however it should be fliped left and right and the the walls should be re-shaded differently. as my example here

anyway i hope that helps

oh and BTW the perspective on the roof is not accurate.

to my eye if feels like i should be able to see some of the other side of the roof.

anyway good luck, and i am not trying to say its bad, but provide help.

Better... Well, i agree roof is strange... You see other side of hills too. And try building a depot in the same direction as an example how it should look :)
