Those are very nice indeed! I just think they need more filth, is all.

I like! I like A LOT! The shading on the platforms needs more color variation (heh, dont think I cant notice, my laptop LCD has fantastic color contrast

), but design wise, and drawing, its absolutly fantastic.
That final 'extra' shading can be done afterwards, no matter

. Its good enough to go in already, as krtaylor said, but I like things to look smooth shading as apposed to the more flat style. Suits TTD better IMO. No matter, either is good and I trust that you will make it look fantastic.
Keep it up

.
Also,Im postponing development of pre3 until these sprites are done, as they are going to replace the old 'country' stations that Astath drew awhile ago.

astath wrote:edit edit: deleted the other underpasses, which sucked. added some shading and minor "filth", it looks a bit more used now.
There's a bright pixel at the edge of the left platform with overpass that looks out of place. Everything else is plain great.

thanks, i see it. i'll get to it when i get back from my work.
aegir: that's allright, i have to draw the opposite version ofcourse, but that'll be not too much of a hassle, i suppose. keep in mind that i'll maybe add some more platforms later on, if i ever feel like it.
krtaylor: well, dirtying up isn't so easy as you might think you know. i'm a very clean person.

Actually, if all goes well, you wont need to even draw those buildings and accessories straight onto the platforms. You can have them seperate sprites. Well, you most likely have them attached when drawing, but when I go to code, I can just position the seccond sprite manually on the plaforms, sure its harder to code, but you can re-draw the platforms, or hell, place the buildings on other platforms altogether (Not to mention slight touchups etc...).
What do you reckon?

Just some files found on my HDD, maybe you can use them ...

There's always been talk of joint caternary supports, and I thought it was ruled impossible, but that was a long time ago - who knows, now?

Going back in time abit, is this station ever going to be finished?
Its such a beutiful station and would be a great addition to the set

try other roof ... so that the part above road would look more like ordinary building (straight roof)

Yeah a more modern flat roof or with a very slight pitch (i think thats the right word) and then maybe some roof vents and air intakes,

Saskia, those look awesome! and welcome back, i haven't seen you for a while.
Aegir: that sounds quite awesome. but what is the plan, should i extract those ones i have now from the platforms? i guess not eh, but it's a cool option, something to keep in mind when i'll start getting that country passenger station together. maybe we'll just have the basic platforms, and then the different "toppings".

awesome.
edit: i feel kind of "spammy" bothering you everyday with this, but unless anyone definitely wants to stop me, i'll mirror these and start shading the "opposites". and maybe add some slight differences here and there, you never know.
edit edit: spammy or not, building is done, mirrorred.
edit edit edit: busy doing the opposites. some more done, busy on the crane. see below.

Use it as station roof
@Astath: Thanks, but I'm not really back, sorry

I'm only here to help with the passenger set revival

But nice ramp

Astath: That looks nice Astath, you dont have to feel 'spammy'
Saskia: Looks nice, not sure what I can do with it though
Krtaylor: Well, I can disable the normal catenery poles when coding a station, perhaps I can add that catenery graphic in as a sprite?
Geo.C Ghost: Dont know actually, Cornelius said it was only half-finished, I might have a look at it later, see if I cant make some sprites out of it.

waargh, i'm currently being sucked into the gloomy repetitive vortex from hell! in normal words, i HATE redoing done sprites.
anyhoo, without further adoo, here's the current state of the sprites. nearly there reshading the opposites, after that comes the first round of checkups. i hope to get this done by tonight, but i have to start for my car theory exam. dammit dammit dammit.
edit: last sprite, incoming. did the towers in photoshop already. easy-peasy.
edit edit: allright, last one done. now, i guess i'll continue tomorrow with the final chekups. Aegir, you can already use them if you wish to.
edit edit edit: final, yes, come on. added the basic platforms. Aegir, i left the black markings there so it'll be easier to see which one belongs where. i hope it's clear now, i'm not really good at making things clear in the first place.
*runs off and starts learning*
g'night!

I wanted to do a new roof for it. I think you'd struggle to make decent sprites out of that image without a lot of work.
Oh and I wasn't going to post this until it was a bit more done, but since I'm here - work in progress on the tarted up suburban station.

I definitely like that better, except that the overpass should be in the middle of a tile, not at the edge like you have it. In combination with the rest of those matching sprites, it will be excellent I think.

Okay, gimme a seccond here...

*Aegir colapses on the floor foaming at the mouth, after a good fifteen to twenty minutes, he gets back up, crying.*
That looks SO f*** SWEET!
Okay... Okay, lemme compose myself a bit, now, some observations:
1: It looks bloody awesome.
2: See no 1
3: Some benches would be, umm, very nice.
4: An underpass or other bits and peices would be nice, but not really neccesary.
Okay, now for Astath (No, didnt forget you

), Its starting to look really nice, some definition around the roof part of the silo would look cool, apart from that, check the height of the platforms and compare with Cornelius' suburban stations, I'd like to keep them at the same height if possible.
Great work both of you!

s***, cornelius' stations are far lower. i wouldn't use them together anyway, but well. i'll see.

Heh, I know they are, well, this batch of suburban stations are a 'tad' higher than others, but still. And heh, you might not use them together, but I've had lots of success mixing your old country stations, Arte/Cornelius' stations, and Born Acorns freight stations. The thing that made it work so well, despite the colour contrasts, was the platform height.
Thats another area where my suggestion about splitting everything from the platform sprites would work well, if a new height is decided on, its easier to change, IMO.
Whatever. Just keep up the great work

.
