Will the patch support such crossings, too?

No. Apart from the fact that I wouldn't want it to - level crossings and points don't seem to be a good match - I don't think there's enough room in the current map array for it.

How about running the track down the road? (-:

Lets leave it at diagonal level crossings for now.

Boo. I want to race a steam locomotive against a fully loaded bus.

Should only be for company owned roads, imagine the mayhem one player could create for 1 road vehicle company by just running a train down the road..

...booooooooooooom

trains will bulldose everything in its path and having lights at the end of every road+track block will mean very little or no rv passing

LOL - it wouldnt half give incentive to improve road technology to be quicker though

I'm getting there.
This should now work with any road-set (as long as the width isn't drastically different), on snow, and with paved roads. It even works in toyland (shudder

). The graphics could probably do with a bit of a cleanup, but I think I'm going to go blind if I stare at them any more, so I'll upload them here and attempt to palm it off on someone else, while I attempt to get the alarm lights working.
I'll update the patch in the original post, and attach the grf there, which will be required with this patch. Here's a screenshot too - pretty pictures are always good

It's done, warning lights and everything. That's the first third of the mantra, anyway (
"Make it work, make it good, then make it fast").
As well as making the light work, I've got both halves of a crossing deactivating at the same time as well as activating, and the check is now more robust, so it won't activate part of a seperate crossing anymore.

Let me know when you feel you have a release ready, and I will add this to the MiniIN. Looks great!

Thanks. I think it's ready, but I'm just playing a game through now to make sure I haven't missed anything.

It's all in the first post - I've been updating it as I go. In fact, I noticed a strange bug with catenary wiring and foundations, so I've just updated it again.

There it was too. It works fine, no bugs so far! The overlays means to works good with the roadset I have in development too!

The captures looks very good!
Good picture
The train and the car are stoped. If they was moving, the picture will have lines in the ligths beacuse it's a photograph taken at night.

Yes! Oh yes!
That's exactly what I want to be able to do. Preferably over a bridge or through a tunnel. (:

Fantastic patch - here it is in the MiniIN.
Very slight graphics glitch. You cannot connect a road to the "free" side of a partial rail tile.
It doesnt look quite right, but that may be solved by putting some fencing along that side.
