I thought it looked a little crooked

hey, that's not a bad idea at all... but i wonder if it's possible? ask a dev?
In principle, something like the station overbuilding should be possible for bridges too. It'll still need extra code, so you still need to find someone to implement it...

great! allright, i'll make up a plan for bribing a dev.

in the meantime, i'll have a look at creating some sprites.

hmmm, mocking up some.

but i guess these are far too big. at least, that's the impression i'm getting.

[edit] added two more mockups, with the rails and the front fence. you'll do the math, easily. :)

I don't know, something about the side fence. It looks way too large to be a handrail/side fence, but way too thin to be a support structure

very true indeed... either way i'll lower it or make it thicker. i'm also thinking about making it covering the track, at some point. so not all the way down the bridge itself, but only the outer or middle part. i'll f*** around with it.

 Heeeey! I like that - A LOT!

First, graphics look awesome

Second, the 'gap' underneath the bridge isn't high enough to let a vehicle pass underneath it.

Would it technically be possible to add a minimum height for bridges?

I suspect that falls into the category of, things to be done if the bridge code ever gets completely rewritten to work more nicely.

well, i didn't quite think of anything when it comes to height. so it'll probably be wrong anyway.

still, this reminds me... "In principle, something like the station overbuilding should be possible for bridges too. It'll still need extra code, so you still need to find someone to implement it...", as Patchman wrote. imagine having one of them overbuilding features for bridges. you'd have the normal parts, under which a car, boat or train can pass, and you'd have for instance blocked or full ones. well, i have to draw this to explain, i guess.

hmm, i guess it's about time to bribe on of them coders to do this. :)

Hey, man, as a suggestion, the bridge could be drawn as I've posted for lower bridge heighths. Then, for higher bridges, the trusses and cross-bracing under the decking could be added.

I think the upper rails should be modified. They're too tall to be handrails, but too short to be upper trusses. I think that you should pick one or the other.

My two cents. Great graphics, regardless. :)

Cheers!

that ìs a very good idea indeed! allright, i'll simply have to do the sprites differently, and find a coder who could do this. nice work Oz! :)

and yes, the rail should be different, i'll probably make it lower, and add some overhead racks in the middle. it might take some time, as i've got loads of homework to do. but we'll get there.

oh, and i just plainly put the basic railway track on it, but that's another point cool stuff can be done with. we'll see.

bwoah, i have a hangover. anyway... i haven't done s***.

Oz, do you have those sprites from that awesome wooden bridge you posted?

i'll go and... do something... hmm. :?
