I have a problem with FIRS. I cant transport the new resources with the waggons. i have only the standard waggons.
Does FIRS work with OTTD 1.0.4?

Then i tryed to use the FIRS in combination with the "XLDBSet" and the "Firs-DB" addon for all ressources. but i the addon doesnt work.

help pls!

Simple solution: use a trainset which supports the cargos and not one which doesn't. For example you could try UKRS, NARS2, 2cctrainset and Japanese Trainset or possibly even OpenGFX+Trains (even though the latter is more of a testing version which might contain still glitches and inconsistencies and only modifies the wagons so that you should be able to transport everything).

It should not work with any released add-on I'm aware of; you'll have one or two unsupported cargos. Please complain to the trainset author. The existing add-on was only made compatible with an ancient FIRS version.

That´s due to a change of the grf-ID and some cargo modifications in FIRS shortly after the DBXL FIRS extension had been released.

I´m just working on another vehicle set which will support FIRS and we´ll see how stable it´ll remain in the near future.

Michael

I don't know if anybody has done a chart for the FIRS cargo yet, so I did one by myself - feel free to use it and tell me if there is something to be changed.

Food can go to town (arctic, desert, newgrf).
AFAIK plastic plant produces goods.

@Fry3k: Very nice!

You could make it more detailed by making the lines with the most important incoming cargo (the highest input/output ratio) thicker.

Also, the yellow lines are difficult to see, perhaps add a small backgound, to they stand out more?

The problem with thicker lines is that the hole "arrow tree" of a cargo type will look weird because one cargo which is the most important for one industry doesn't have to be as important for another industry. So should the start of a certain arrow cargo tree be a thick line oder a thin line? Perhaps I could include the input/output ratio at the input arrows above a certain industriy. To make the yellow lines more visible I'm still searching for a good background coler since I don't want to change the colors since they are the same like in-game. But thanks for your comments.

Maybe big ending arrow to show that cargo have good conversion rate?

Good point. I think, the purpose of thicker/thinner lines is to give the reader a clue what cargo to start with.

To make it look right, the best approach may be to make the start of the cargo thick (since you don't have other information to display, making the backbone of a cargo thicker is not bad imho), and have thick/thin lines to the destination industries (perhaps 'thick' being less thick than the backbone).
Fry3k wrote:Perhaps I could include the input/output ratio at the input arrows above a certain industriy.
I'd consider that optional information as it adds considerable clutter to the picture (as well as maintenance effort).
If you want numbers, a different place for the numbers could be inside the industry box. Also, you could use relative ratios (eg numbers 4 5 1 would mean ratios 4/(4+5+1), 5/(4+5+1), 1/(4+5+1) = 4/10 5/10 1/10 ).

I guessed that already, which I why I suggested to change the local background colour rather than the cargo colour.
