Hello, I like this set very much, but one thing disturbs me.
When the map generator in OpenTTD is used, sometimes the secondary industries are constructed despite restrictions (distance to a city not less then some value). Thus some "industrial zones" are formed in the middle of nowhere (see screenshot).
I modified grf it a little to correct that.
I can post modified grf here?
P.S. Please excuse me for my english.

Mmhm. Huuuge map with few towns = overflow of the distance measurement (> FF).
You may post a modified grf, but please change the filename, the in-game displayed name, and the grfid.

I modified a code as follows
(on a brewery example)
Code: Select all
//the initial
175 * 18 02 0A 31 81 89 20 FF 12 1C 00 FF 01 31 00 00 00 31 00
//the modified
175 * 18 02 0A 31 81 89 20 FF 12 1C 00 FF 01 4A 80 00 00 31 00
Lines for the industries which are carrying out similar check are replaced in the same way.
New GRFID: CF6F8C10
Absolutely untested on TTDPatch
PS Please excuse me for my English.
---edit---
UKRS Industries brick chain v1.5 modified to work with modified PBI v1.5.
Fixed grammatical errors (modifyed -> modified)

Your english is very good. You are a lot better than those who use Google translator.

no, that will not happen.
if the stockpile does not suffice for you, fund a second industry.

Ive found a strange thing with the power station. When i zoom out one level and look at the two chimneys they are kinda... jumping

. this only happends when it has coal to produce and it comes smoke out of them. I dont know how to post an animated pic so i guess you just have to belive me....

I can confirm that behaviour. But in my observation the transformators hops, not the chimneys. Transformators or chimneys, something moves.

It's just an artifact of how it shrinks the sprites on the fly. It could probably be fixed by adjusting the jumping sprite slightly, but it's not a major problem.

Sorry if I haven't looked well enough but I am looking for a list of cargoes and cargo labels (for the cargo translation table) for PBI... is there one? or where should I look?

They're all on the wiki... the only non-ECS cargo that PBI has is COPR Copper, and CLAY Clay and GRVL Gravel in the brick chain.

Hi Pikka,
What about the translation in your files? Now we see there's a lot translated but not your add-ons...
Maybe there are translators who would like to grab it and go for it.
Me myself can translate and did it in the past for other games, but now i lack the time to do it, sorry.

Ello Pikka,
Wonderful new addon to openTTD, more industries, other graphics and more eyecandy!
I've been wondering about one thing though:
With the addition of "Pikka Industries" and "UKRS Industries Brick Chain", where can I find the trucks/trains to transport those materials?
I can't find any clay or gravil containers

PBI doesn't seem to like alpine climates much.
I get duplicate industries probably because alpine climates loads its own.
However no matter in which order I put the grfs I still get duplicates.
Is there anyway I can solve the problem?

Have you checked the do-not-readmes? IIRC there might be a grf parameter for alpine climate which addresses industries. But my memory might be faulty.

Unfortunately in the alpineclimate_en.html file provided with grf it tells me there are no parameters to set.
Its no biggie, I'll play without alpine climates but y'know. Would be nice.

No, the PBI do_not_readme should tell you what to do.

As you may have guessed, the solution is to not use PBI and Alpine Climate together. I played a game with both, and had various problems, I forget the details, but I think there were problems with:
- town food/goods acceptance
- factory cargo acceptance
I am not aware of any work around. Most sets that modify cargos/industries/houses don't play nicely together. Incidentally it would be quite difficult for grf authors to solve that as it is quite a complex problem.

Some industries don't accept some cargoes because it loads the same sort of industries but two types, one from vanilla temperate which the alpine climate grf is telling it to do and one modified one which the PBI grf is telling it to do. If you go to the minimap and look at the industries it will have
ORANGE Factory and right underneath
ORANGE Factory
One is from the original vanilla temperate and the other from PBI. Now the one from PBI can only accept stuff from other PBI industries on the map and not ones from Alpine. So one steel mill will accept iron from one iron ore mine but not from another while a second steel mill will behave in the opposite way and be able to receive coal from certain coal mines. I guess this has something to do with IDs or something
I'll take your word for it that the problem is complex but could it be solved by simply getting rid of the Alpine.grfs industry section?
That gives PBI a ice blank arctic state to work from and that should, according to my limited knowledge, do the trick
