First I have to say that I always enjoy playing with your set!
It makes the game much more fun to play :D

I have done a danish translation of FIRS, hope you will include it in a future release :)

The file is not in UTF-8 encoding, could you please convert it?
Also, the first lines of the file should be

Code: Select all

##grflangid 0x2d
##plural 0
(0x2d means "the Danish language" :) )

Here is a new version of the file. :)

Forgot about the UTF-8 encoding, and didn't knew what nubers to insert in the first line, but thank you for telling me!

Added in r3812. It looks like the nightly is already build, so that will take 24 hours. If you cannot wait, you can try a version (any version with a number higher or equal to 3812 :) ) from http://bundles.openttdcoop.org/bundles/firs/push/ Both are just copies of current development, and may be broken in some way.

I absolutely love the FIRS set, adds a ton of depth to the game, I play it along with the mod that makes cities grow only if they have lots of industry coming into the city... I was wondering, is there a way for me to make a GRF or something that can 'override' the default cost for destroying industries. I don't like the magic bulldozer, I kinda wish I could destroy size 0 cities, and industries, even if it cost 500 million to destroy an industry or more.. it would give me something to do late game (making things very organized)

(I also use mods that make trains cost 16x more, and stuff like that.. and I still get super bored in late game normally (late game is like after 3-9 hours, once you're earning hundreds of millions per quarter))

(registered here just to say thanks! and keep up the great work!! :) )

Base cost mod grf can probably do it - search for it on downloadable content.

I use that, to up the costs of everything, but it just multiplies.. I've tried x0.50 x2, etc. http://screencast.com/t/4HfaYIl5G this is what it's currently at, but I still have to use magic bulldozer and it doesn't cost anything. :(

I have problem with meaning of STR_STATION_xxx strings.
They should be names of places where you can build factory/industry?

that's the name a station gets when placed near an industry. Some Crazyperson (tm) got the idea to give them almost totally unrelated names, because apparently "<Townname> <Industryname>" is Boring(tm).

They should be somewhat 'realistic' names of stations (or roads after which a station might be named) in areas where you usually find such industry instead of the 'boring' naming according to the industry name itself. (And it was rather a group of crazy people than one person alone ;-) *whistle* )

So, if I translate STR_STATION_MINE to something like "Deep Hell" ;) , the station created near the coal mine in Hamburg city will receive the name "Hamburg Deep Hell"?

Thanks!
Which industry uses the string STR_STATION_PIT? Clay? Sand?
I need to know because in Polish we have many variants for "pit' translation.

Clay pit and lime kiln unless it hides additionally somewhere I didn't find it.

Thanks! Polish translation is done.
I have used the most versatile translation for STR_STATION_xxx. It can be changed to something more "funny" in the future... ;)

Why was portuguese language updated from PT-BR to PT-PT?

Those are two separate languages, spoken in different areas in the world.
pt_BR is Brazil
pt_PT is Portugal

Most likely cause is that there was a pt_PT translator, but not a pt_BR one.

The language file was translated to PT-BR by myself. Just the latest updates was translated by someone else in PT-PT. The language file is now mixed with PT-BR and PT-PT.

FIRS never had a Brazilian translation. When you submitted the lang file the first time (viewtopic.php?f=26&t=41607&p=1059077#p1059077), your post said "Portuguese", not "Brazilian". So, it was added as Portuguese (pt_PT) translation. Recently a new translator was appointed to Portuguese (pt_PT), so I guess he fixed the spelling :)

Can you please point out, which revision is still Brazilian?
See here: https://dev.openttdcoop.org/projects/fi ... uguese.lng

Then that version can be added as actual Brazilian translation.

https://translator.openttdcoop.org/project/firs lists it as a pt_PT language, so I guess that's the correct direction.

If you want to translate to pt_BR, there are 2 options as far as I can see:

1. Start a new pt_BR translation:
a. Become a pt_BR translator in eints.
b. Create the pt_BR language in FIRS
c. Translate all strings until you are happy.

2. Continue the translation from a previous point.
a. http://dev.openttdcoop.org/projects/fir ... uguese.lng is the history of the portugese language. Each link at the left (with all the weird numbers) is a version. Click the number, click "portugese.lng", and check the contents.
Find the newest file that is usable to you. Tell the weird number here in the forum.
b. One of the developers of FIRS makes a copy of that file as the pt_BR language.
c. Become a pt_BR translator in eints.
d. Improve the translation until you are happy.

More information about eints and becoming a translator is at http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=68604

Note: Frosch was faster, but maybe my post is still useful :)
