Wrong thread to ask in, but anyways. Yes, there is a newer version of NABS than what you have in progress. But things don't happen overnight, heck, things often take months to finish where I'm concerned. But rest assured, there is a new version, and it is coming :).

I want to pass my US HQ replacement set, cause I'm working on many other things. This set might be the place, where it could fit into (cause the HQs contain road sprites to). If you like to overtake the sprites or parts of them just pm.

Would you like to post them here so we can take a look?

This is the latest stuff I've got.
If you like to work with them I can post/pm the components of the sprites.

I am not personally very fond of the American monuments. But the other ones are very good. Particularly that triangular-shaped skyscraper is superb, it's gotta find its way in somewhere and see the light of day. Maybe the NABS if not here?

Indeed, that triangular building is well done, and was certainly an ambitious project. It should go into NABS1 as a two tiled office block. And perhaps the service station could be included as a one-tile building. Skidd, would you allow a few changes to be made to bring these into NABS1 appearance, namely I'm thinking of the roof on the office block, and perhaps a little enhanced landscaping on both the service station and the office block?

Very nice overview ... I just wanted to ask for that.

There should be no problem to incorporate the US HQ set into NA Roads set; after all it was only usable together with the US Roads Set anyway.

We could do the following :

. Have it parameter driven for those who don't want it.
. We would need some sprites adapted to either 'dirt' or 'brick' road surface.

BTW, does anyone know how the HQ evolves from the humble hut to the multi-story office block ? Is it time driven or dependent on company performance ?

I'm a bit unsure about the bank ...

Company performance.

Which is probably not the answer you wanted.

Proceed as you like. Maybe the attached sketches might help you.

Temperate and arctic/trocpic one. But the arctic tropic one could be split too.

What about NewHQs? ;)

That is what I expected ... being dependent on company performance may require some additional buildings for the 1st generation of roads; i.e. 'dirt/brick' as the modern office tower may look out of place in 1940.

We could simply go with the Original TTD HQs until 1945, then when the road system is upgraded to bitumen, so will the HQs.

What I meant ... Should the banks be included in NA Roads ? We could of course have them activated by another parameter.

Another issue : There is a snowy variant of the stage 1 HQ for arctic, but there is no below/above snowline support for HQs. It would look ok only, if the HQ is actually built above the snowline.

The office tower is tall enough in the TTD world that the roof would be in a higher climate zone and collect snow when the ground floor wouldn't.

Agreed

IMO Banks have nothing to do with the roads. But maybe you like to use the buildings elsewhere.

GRF customisable HQs would solve many problems with the HQs.

... adding US HQs to NA Roads ...
We now have all the details we need and shall see what we can come up with. As an absolute minimum we can add the US HQ Set to NA Roads with the bitumen roads only. This would give the same compatibility that the US Roads set had with the US HQ set.

We'll keep you posted ...

Here is an update of the North American Roads Set v0.6a [30 Nov 2007] ...

What's new ?

- Added OpenTTD GUI sprites for Auto Road Tool.
- Other OpenTTD GUI sprites updated due to changes how these have been implemented in OpenTTD since r11433.
- Added GRF parameter 5 'Tram Tracks'; this one is just a placeholder for a future update.
- Added GRF parameter 6 'US HQ'; enable US HQ with this parameter.
- Added US HQ set by Skidd13 (but not the bank buildings). See User Guide for details.

Enjoy ...

Here is another update of the North American Roads Set; now with tram infrastructure; i.e. tracks, stops and depots ...

... but batteries, sorry, trams not included ...

What's new ?

- Added comprehensive tram infrastructre; i.e. tracks, stops, depots, icons and cursors, as well as a choice of fences for off-road tram tracks. All sprites, except on-road tram tracks, have been reworked, updated or drawn from scratch.

Before anybody asks :

The off-road tram tracks for the 'dirt' road system are able to display snow (above the snowline) in between tracks, because of the snowy and gravelly look of urban 'dirt' roads.

Enjoy ... downloads in the next post and please report any graphics glitches here ...

Say, we do actually have quite a number of American trams drawn, and more that could be; any possibility of coding them?
