Electric cable network?

Light? *Lookin at my PC's power cable*... eeerm... Sorry, but as hard as I try to see some, I don't see any light goin through these copper leads... SCNR ;)

Hmmm.... but I've got an idea:
What about converting the solar energy to electrochemical energy: The helioelectric power plant uses solar power to electrolyse water to H2+O2, which can be transported (liquified, of course) to the town centres, where it is used for the fuel-cell-powered cars and the local industry?

You're exactly saying what I've been thinking :P So I have to make some transparent tanks?

Oh, you can also make the tanks photoresist, it's translucency doesn't matter... You can of course paint them pink or brown or what you want, because we don't know if the current pressure reservoire color codes (e.g. red compressed gas cylinders for H_2) still will apply in the future. The only thing you have to mention is that the tanks have to store two very explosive/reactive chemicals: H_2 and O_2... ;)

Transporting light?

I suggest Teleporting photons.

Mr, X.. That topic, do you mean that they really teleported something/someone to an other place?

Posted: 27 Jun 2006 09:57
by Red*Star
No, they only teleported information. It's something that's possible in quantum mechanics by using "entangled particles": IIRC you have one photon here and one photon there and if you change some attitudes of the "photon here" also the attitudes of the "photon there" change, even if it's kilometres away.
But don't nail me down on this, this experiment is long ago now and I've forgotten the details...

You are almost right see this wiki quote: "It was a successful quantum teleportation experiment involving the use of 'entangled' photons. A target photon was successfully 'scanned', its properties 'copied' onto a transition photon, and finally the photon was recreated at another location of arbitrary distance, proving in essence the theorems proposed by Einstein to explain his 'strange action at a distance'."

IBM's research on teleportation

Wiki Article on teleportation

"In quantum information, quantum teleportation, or entanglement-assisted teleportation is a technique that transfers a quantum state to an arbitrarily distant location using a distributed entangled state and the transmission of some classical information. Quantum teleportation does not transport energy or matter, nor does it allow communication of information at superluminal speed."

Quantumstate teleportation and N-state particles

Anyway, research is in progress.

Why not have solar power cells as a transport option as this will make more sense but will be more intercity and will have to snatch it up before the city grows.

You mean like a cargo type?

Yes, like in Wales many people have gas cliniders why not have ellectric cliniders to make the game more erm futureistic.

Electric Cylinders? You can't store electricity in a cylinder...

It was an example and a very bad one. How about batteries erm really big batteries.

graphics_master: little hint, first finish off your truck and factory ok? anyways, it looks nice :)

I dropped the truck and will continue work on the factory.

ok is fine :) I will continue on the truck ok?

Ok that will be fine. Remeber it is double decker :D

Why not, it is futuristic, isn't it? 200 years ago everybody thought that people would use horses as a transport method forever and now we're driving in cars or using trains.
