it isn't the wiki that's outdated, it's the fact that one of the packages (zlib1.2.3) doesn't work anymore.
i believe that an updated version is being worked on (by me if no one else  )
in that case... drop me a line when i can give it a new go ;)

error for the version 'Scautura' compiled (this is the chillcore patch ? )

in the station building menu, im missing a lot of stations. there are way more GRF files loaded into the game.
in total about 7 or 8 station grfs are loaded, but not showing up.

Yup... And I get an error when I try to scroll through the station list (crash dump included) - this was just a download of SVN 20482 and patch (using TortoiseSVN) of the diff file provided (no errors when patching, although there were warnings during compile)

Note that I have a pre-created environment using MingW/MSYS with zlib 1.2.3 that I can happily compile versions of OpenTTD 'til the cows come home... I don't know what the issue with zlib is, but it's not affecting me. (Edit: Of course it won't affect me, it's getting hold of it in the first place that's the issue... Lemme see if I still have it somewhere)

Tada! Both freely distributable per the readmes

it's not the getting hold of it that's ther problem, it's the fact that it can't connect to its server :(

That's not the way I understand what's written on the Wiki, but trying to download, I do understand that it is the issue as seen... I have the file it downloads (I've posted it on my server as it is freely distributable) if that's any help. As far as I know, you can point it at a pre-downloaded file.

i haven't made myself clear: when you attempt to install zlib, mingwPORT, the file attempts to look online for something. it currently fails at that, and therefore the whole thing fails

Yay scrollbars ...

Reduce the station gui to having 1 column in the previews, select the last (visible) entry and see the scrollbar being updated ...
Scroll down and select the station grf you want to use ...
Not ideal but it works (for now).

Thank you for the crashlog. I'll have a looksie.
My first guess is that it is also related with the scrollbar change after 20450 but I am not sure yet.
Also thank you for the build.

Hmm, it works overhere.
The crash you had is the same as Scautura's. I could not yet reproduce it.

Anyway until I know what is wrong, attached is the version I had before bumping beyond 20450 and the scrollbar misery started ...
Patch versions include are here:
http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... &start=257
Savegame version is also 146 but it did not yet include the "_object_chunk_handlers[]" chunks in the savegame so I doubt that it will work with savegames from r20482. (Maybe it will maybe it will not. read: untested)

This is what happens if I am pushed at releasing without enough testing ...
I think I will ignore the "when can we get the next version" requests next time, sorry. :(

@Scautura:
Would you mind removing the version against r20482 please as it will cause too much "boohoo it does not work" ...
Thank you.
Feel free to make a version against 20450 available as it should be much more stable. ;)

That would be very much appreciated. :)

Make sure you can compile clean trunk first before trying to patch.
The only hard thing is setting up the compiler correctly.
After that it is a piece of cake and you can play/test every patch you want.

And a new version ... again.
Thank you for the bug reports Scautura and Dante123. :)

Changed from v9_8:
----------------------
- Bump to 20505.
- Fixed the station build gui problem. It should work as before now.
- Removed split refit temporarily. I will try to get it back in but I'd rather fix one thing at a time ...

I hope the crash is fixed now also ... I still could not reproduce it.

That screen-shot flatters me!

seriously though, going to have to give this pack a try myself.

And again, one fresh new binary and diff (this one doesn't crash on the station dialog).

Again, this is too big to post on here, so it's hosted on my server.

Diff included for posterity (and GPL)

Hi, I found this bug this morning.
Assertion failed at line 53 of C:/msys/1.0/home/Chris/svn.openttd.org/src/core/pool_type.hpp: index < this->first_unused

What did you do to get that?

Enjoy your game. Do post a savegame if you want. Preferably one that does not crash. lol.

Thank you for the binary.

Also unzipping your zip and rezipping as .7z gives me 3.4MB as opposed to your 4.4MB.
Maybe +- 25% smaller is worth the change ... Anyway, it is your disk space.

Thank you for the report.
You do not happen to have a savegame from before the crash.
The crash save crashes as soon as I load it making it hard to see what happens.
I suspect it being a grf that causes it but I have no idea which one as reusing your grf list does not trigger a crash withuot actually playing.(*)

(*) I have seen the error before, not only with my patchpack, when loading older games and the correct grf not being available. It could ofcourse be something completely different.

EDIT: I have not yet seen the last screenshot you posted before replying ... will comment later. Testing cloning first.

Or what did I do to cause that?

As far as I'm concerned, disk space/bandwidth are not an issue. As far as compression algorithms go, there are still people I know who don't know about 7z - they barely know about rar... Since the first part isn't an issue, I'm happy to provide zips (since doing "make bundle_zip" does all the hard work anyway - I'll give "make bundle_7z" a go next time) for now, but I'll give 7z a go next time.
