Next stage of 1st generation one way signs, traffic side compliant. I don't like them, if I want to build a motorway style road system. Back to the drawing board for 2 signs ...
BTW, I lightened the poles 2 tones and darkened the back side of sign by 2 tones. Also the pole is shortened by 1 pixel.
Then, there are the 1st generation bus and truck stops, the one with the bench is the bus stop. Your city streets will also be fitted with same lamp posts as the drive through bus/truck stops show during this time period.
You may also want to checkout the 2nd generation 'one way' road works, or blocked road; and the new decks for the first generation bridges.

Just a matter of curiosity ...
What is the difference between the one-way signs and tram track poles, catenary poles and railroad signals? For instance, are tram track poles applied as an overlay too?

What about accepting the overdriven signs and use something like the original sprites are?

One-way signs can only be supplied as a ground sprite, so if you're not careful things will drive over them. All the others are supplied as separate sprites so they can be drawn in front of trains or trams.

The thought was to get around the unreality of painting signs on dirt and snow.

Thanks ... I do understand that.
I was hoping for a little more detail ... For instance:
Does the one-way overlay absolutely have to be drawn that way?
Could it be done as a separate sprite?
Can eis_os' excellent patch be adjusted to accommodate the signs as separate sprites instead of one overlay?

Alright, gang, as promised, here's the first generation truck terminals. Tried to make them look a little scruffy and muddy; you know...used.
This set's come along very nicely. 'Good job!' to all who have contributed. I do have some concerns about the brick roads in the snow, though. They REALLY stand out. I still want to rework the overhead wires for the trams, and make them more trolley-ish / streetcar-ish, as well. Especially the early generation. Mebbe we can save that for the second release.
Cheers!

Nice Job, Now it is Released!

Nice stuff, Oz. I'll split 'em up and send 'em to the other Oz right now. Unfortunatley, the patch does not support seasonal road depots, bus & truck stops and the like, so we're stuck with sans-snow for now. As for the second release, that's what OzTrans and I had in mind.

For the time being, yes, that is how One Way Arrows are implemented ... only with patch support could we do it differently.

Yes, we have planned to include tram tracks and facilities in this set; mainly to get rid of the forest of tram poles and the wire mesh ... work has started, but won't be included in the first release.
As for the other problem, I'm still working on it ...

Pity about the non-seasonal depots. They really tend to stick out like a sore thumb. Anyhow, I was playing around today with the brick roads, to try and get them to better blend in with the snow, and I drew the posted roads below. What do you guys think? They should look a little better in the snowy towns than the current roads. If you do like them, cool, I'll draw some tunnels that fit in as well. If not, it was worth a shot.
Oztrans: I've been monitoring the discussion about the tram poles and wires in the ttdbase grf in the grassy tram discussion. I've tried to figure out all of the duplications and other things you pointed out, but, man, those are some confusing sprites. When you do get them figured, could you post a description of what sprites I'll need to change for the first generation sprites? That would be a huge help!
Cheers!

Oz wrote: ... snowy city roads ...
Another one of those things ... for city roads we cannot have snowy variants. We only have 3 types, i.e. city roads, urban below snow and urban above snow.
... tram tracks ...
I'm in the process of documenting the tram track sprites. I'll keep you posted.
... 1st generation truck stations ...
Those very good looking truck stations are in the bag too ...

I'm liking it guys

Those truck depots look awesome. Maybe use Oz's steam shovel from NABS for the early roadworks?

We're a step ahead of you, Dan. OzTrans hasn't shown any pictures, yet...

You probably mean that one ... it's being implemented.
@lifeblood : can move the very heavy monster a bit, so that it fits within the boundaries of the road tile.

Isn't it possible to have snowy RV station sprites? We can have snowy train station tiles after all.
